This is what Diamondback is for. Get a few stabs or saps and you can suddenly go toe to toe with a heavy in gun combat and win.

Spy is meant to be annoying. Take the spy sappers, most spies would probably see their choices and just pick the sapper that destroys things rather then the sapper that de-levels things. But if a spy is in a good game with competent engineers and pyros they aren't going to be effective with that sappper and unless their sapper actually kills the consruct it doesn't actually hurt the engineer.

A good "annoying" spy will use red-tape recorder and know that even though their sappers will get removed they are being VERY annoying to the engineer. And they are breaking down the ability for the team to work together.

What happens in a game if an engineer never upgrades their teleporter beyond level 1? People wait on the tp or simply ignore it altogether and part of the usefulness of an engineer is negated.

Experienced DR players know how to trigger the DR on command. It takes more effort but is done on a constant basis by DR spies. And the use of DR doesn't automatically mean a player will be more or less aggressive then other watches. There's a variety of ways to play this game.

You mean the basic piece of equipment that everyone has access to? The specific piece of equipment that I have been saying repeatedly has been my playstyle in both games? Holy crap. I never would have thought that people would use shields in a game that has shields. One that you yourself were saying earlier in this very thread encourages blocking.

Look up the "modern dark souls 2 experience" mod on Nexus; easy to install. I haven't played much with it, but I'm gonna do a full playthrough. It has a whole list of changes, but the best one so far is rolling speed and distance. Adaptability is no longer needed.

Lol yeah there's definitely some implied corruption when you think about it so it's actually pretty true to life. To be fair, you are entitled to raid the armory and any unmarked chests in the barracks since its all Guard equipment in the end (just don't touch any chests that have RED bounding boxes). You're on a special mission from the Pavura; he'll understand why you did it, I'm sure.

Den-raiding is a completely guilt-free activity. Consider the loose emeralds and precious stones as part of your pay for clearing dangerous wildlife while on an impromptu patrol.

As for the graverobbing, isn't it weird that the Forten witch can openly ask you to enter the local tombs? Surely that's a crime right? Wrong. She's technically asking you to make a copy of something that will remain in the tomb. If you pick up any emeralds while you're in there, just think of it as confiscating evidence of previous graverobber activity.

(Seriously though, I always refuse the witch when i'm still Level 1. Those Gravekeepers and ghosts are no joke)

The Watervine quest is not always the best place to start, as its hazards might catch you off guard if you're so new to the game. You might try Argyve's quest for the Rust Wells, which are due east and the goal is more straightforward.

Alternately, you can wander around Joppa and grind fighting low-level enemies until you've gained two or three levels (it won't take that long), which will leave you in much better shape to do the Watervine quest.
