That's the thing, the avg run with a team, if both people sucks like massively let's say that, when one dies, the other will in fact die trying to revive, and runs ends.

When playing solo you get 3 full revivals which also heal to full health unlike the revive a teammate does. Important fact. So technically worth 2 flasks.

Therefore you can get avg run 7 flasks and 3 revives= 10 flasks worth in a solo expedition. Normal one.

So you a player total noob, learning to get good, you have three chances of forgiveness vs team if somehow both-three of you screw up, that's it, runs end.

Obviously we can say if someone is so massively inapt they wont even learn the boss mechanics with three revivals. But if someone is that massively inapt in team battles he will be more of a burden than a helping hand, so in both situations the weight or bar will be the same or even worse, in a trio the other two will need to each do an extra 16.5% dmg to the boss.

In fact i had runs where i had to do solo Everdark Adel with a Revenant and Adel had 50% hp, reason being people do normal Adel these days, beginners, and their first cognitive thought is, "let's jump to the hardest version without doing any other boss or remembrance questline."
I did some testing with revenant because people said it was unplayable to fight as revenant w/ randoms in some everdarks, and the truth is, while isn't unplayable you need to outperform yourself 2x-3x or even 4x.
That is what makes team expedition harder, isn't just the nightlord, is also the human connection going on there.
An example of castle map, if three people go to castle and the two potatoes get all purple weapon first and idk DC from the game, essentially they stole the "best drops" from the chests in your world for example, this' an unique situation of COOP which wont be replicable in Solo.
I had raiders-wylders getting a caster talisman from beetle and DC w/o dropping it more than once, and sometimes i wasn't even the caster of the team.

Also this might look like i'm bothered by the newcomers-beginners, but in fact i'm not, it's currently the only layer of hardship the game provides, being strong enough to carry yourself +your team, sometimes i enjoy it, specially agreeing with you in one thing here, when you show the beginners how to do X, and you notice their fair play improving mid expedition. This is something i do enjoy myself. Reason i also like to do team expeditions. But in no way, it's easier. or in a sense it will come down to philosophic belief like you replied to Wanderer in an early reply.

i'm defending the logic appeal here, not the emotional one. Yet using the emotional one in play, some humans are more social in the sense of needing guiding, not free willed creatures. These specific humans will perform better only when in group, which would make either duo-trio easier for them BUT in a scenario without special needs, solo is easier than trio at any given moment IF the math is "solo gitting gud vs all trio gitting gud" or "vet solo vs vet trio",

i had a premade team and we had 120% dmg buff and we took more time to kill caligo than the video of me doing it solo without this amount of dmg buff xD. Difference was 30s but like we had 120% extra dmg... so it was a perfect rng better than what i had but even the most perfect RNG in group doesn't deliver the same metrics of solo for the vet players.

Caligo is a pure RNG fest for how fast you kill him, it literally only depends on how much he flies and how many attacks he directs around himself rather than using standard melee attacks.

I had a run just yesterday where I was playing Raider and carrying, partially because no one paid attention to weapon pings and partially because our Executor dropped a silver scarab instead of carrying it around early on so I had to have it equipped getting us 5 total legendary drops. Meanwhile, our revenant was using first a greatsword (Blasphemous Blade) and then a great spear (Mohg's) and using fire spells... on Tricephalos, the boss with 50% fire absorption.

I went down multiple times, sure, but mostly because I was doing most of the damage against a boss that really, really likes to stunlock you with a 3 way gangbang.

We still won because infinite revives is *really damn strong*.

Imagine making up false equivalencies because you aren't personally inconvenienced. Remember when they went and added the second layer of Denuvo, the kernel level anticheat, and literally NOBODY was happy with that and they walked it back inside of a week? Oh wait, we should be ashamed of criticizing such a generous company because they did something dumb and invasive.

None of us in this thread are criticizing the implementation of the modding framework. Maybe they did a fantastic job of it, maybe they didn't, personally I don't know and I don't care. I'm already set for life with gzdoom.

The discussion here is that they have jury-rigged and stuffed in a bare minimum, half-busted, intrusive frontend that cannot be worked around and which has removed simple but core functionality. Okay? Okay.

Edit: This thread was helpful. Turns out at least one workaround actually worked, finally.
I am amazed that checking the box to skip the launcher and using the old mod injector is hard for people. I know computer literacy has gone down the toilet with media literacy but yikes. try to use your computer. I believe in you ;)
