I got the same problem. Things I tried but did not work:
- changing the language
- running the game in window mode
- changed my pc resolution
- changed windors region to UK

If it is, I literally haven't gotten it to fire a single time in my game. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. As I understand you are supposed to move, and then stop for a moment to fire it? But it doesn't ever come out...
