Hi, in the previous post I was mainly referring to generic lords; that's the part I wanted to focus on. Legendary lords are a bit more developed, but as the game progresses and you need to recruit more generic lords, the weaknesses of their skill trees become apparent. Aside from that with so few choices in the skill tree you're forced to build them all the same and give them the same units and that's not fun in the long run.

1- If you want ideas for improving your current lords skill trees I think the best thing you can do is look at the skill trees of other lords in the game and gather ideas that fit the direction you want to give each one. With the skill trees being so empty right now, you have plenty of room to add things from other lords that you think will work for them and then work from there on your own skills if you feel inspired and willing.

2- Understandable, but I honestly think you should bring them back to give more variety to the faction's armies once you develop the ones you already have. You already have the appearance, you can use the hero models and add a few more details to differentiate them. Something like a more stylish hat or cape, for example.

3- The only benefit I found in research is a +6 rank for militia units. It's not much if, for some silly reason, someone wants to create a doomstack militia. Militia are cheap just like zombies or goblins but the lords and tech trees of those factions offer options to improve them because why not? the choice is there. By the way something I missed in the research tab was some technology that would increase population growth, there aren't any, and only one that grants +2 to public order (a somewhat low bonus), although I didn't want to mention the tech tree before. Researching population growth is something many of us do at the beginning and in the case of this faction, nothing offers it.

4- No, the admiral only appears with the three traits I mentioned earlier. I've started several games trying this mod and it's always like this.

((6- Faction mechanic?))

To be honest, there is no faction mechanic missing...yes Cataph has this fancy plutocrachy stuff and so on but nothing more. While in my mod the focus lies on the battle mechanic to set the focus at the units.
In my opinion these are two different ways of faction mechanic.
Also, I adapted these "smithing" mechanic for my Tilea overhaul mod. Adapting it for Estalia is not that easily possible as both would overwrite each other.

When I mentioned a faction mechanic I was referring to the campaign map, for example Cathay also has a proximity battle mechanic for units but on the campaign map they have the compass, the great bastion and caravans. Most factions have something, even if it's just a shop/smith like the tomb kings or the plutocrachy. This is just a suggestion and I imagine it would take a lot of work but it would be nice to have something else to do on the campaign map besides constructing buildings and moving armies, maybe just some kind of fancy caravans and call them expeditions.

Like the Lost Calm mod does for lizardmen:

This is a mod that sends caravans to specific locations to collect dinosaur eggs and adds some flavor to the faction, in the case of this mod it would obviously be for something else, it could be something like stealing artifacts from lizardmen ruins or something like that and that way it wouldn't conflict with that shop you're designing for Tilea.

I understand that all of this is easier said than done and as you say, you're a small team but I really like your mod and wanted to give you some ideas. Seriously, the lords need some improvements, especially the admiral which is currently very bad as a unit and lord. It has stats of around 35 in attack and defense, its missile range is 90, though it does decent damage, it offers nothing beyond that in combat, the cannon ball skill comes from the ship not him.
