Apparently, the ornate key is behind a Door that is found immediately to the west of the broken bell in the wine cellars area (just look at the broken bell then go left into the wine cellars). After u open the door, u'll see it sitting under a natural light coming from the ceiling, which is also next to the door that requires the ornate key to unlock.

No, the logic you are looking for:
You know an area of town is bad, and you shouldn't walk down the street, yet alone walk down the street alone. So you avoid the street entirely because of this knowledge.

Gankers are abusing game mechanics like the render distance and the thumper to utterly destroy someone else who is no threat to them in any way.

You can't expect people to be aware of these types of risks without them having any prior knowledge of this.

There would be no way to know in advance except from other people (which is unlikely for players playing solo), from for instance youtube vids (which most players also don'tother with) or from previous game experiences in PvE which simply don't exist as the NPCs don't abuse the same gameplay mechanics (the render distances and the thumper abuse).

You bring in models, and you could customize their gear for points.

Kill Team 2021 actually had a mode called Narrative Play where you built a team to play for a whole campaign, and your operatives could gain XP and level up to get new perks, or get negative perks if they got incapacitated in a battle, or killed entirely and have to be replaced with a fresh recruit.
It was designed for a Kill Team league where the same players would play the same teams over a set number of games. You even had multi-game objectives, resources, loot, and an upgradable base of operations.
Took a lot of work to organize, and players had to be down to play the same team for a while, but it was a lot of fun.
