Just because it was designed that way doesn’t mean it’s necessarily good, especially in an era when game design wasn’t yet well-documented. The current developers have already added options to make the gameplay smoother, and the feature I’m asking for fits that same goal.

Having to read underwater, in a non-native language, while dealing with concentration issues isn’t an easy exercise. Likewise, when you feel like you’ve cleared an area and an enemy suddenly comes from across the map to attack you, it’s frustrating, and that constant tension disrupts my focus.

If you’re looking for the original experience, that’s great for you, but in my view, your argument isn’t as easy to justify as that.

I'm working my way up the levels.
the default was too easy, so I moved it to the next one up: standard?
Then Hard, that was a decent challenge, I found it fun.. but i didn't get challenged.

I just tried harder and got stomped. The Meganobz killed my entire army and commander.
I know i could've won with melta bombs..
It felt like the enemy had quite an advantage stats wise at this level. It was less fun. But more tactical. (kind of becomes more DOW2 like, with the micromanagement of abilities..)
