If you open the path under the temple that will lead you past the fire. I recommend killing the village boss before hand or at least get the fire spell. It will be very useful against the underground boss. The underground is the main path the rest of the village and temple is side content.

no i did not messed up . i approached it slowly and crouching , not running like an idiot . u try combating a person sitting in a corner and surprises u with a shotgun at close range then

Did he kill you? If so, you messed up. Learn from it, and consider a different strategy next time.

The satieted bonus (which you get based on how much you over ate) is actually usefull for morale now though so it is not as big of a waste any more.
