Gave you an award because I woke up this morning trying to test the game out, only for me to get that dreadful "Startup boot" message. Followed your steps diligently and I gotta thank you for this one. I need to be more tech savvy with my PC now lmao

No matter what I try, I can't fix it. I've been searching for a solution on Reddit for days, but it crashed again today. I wrote to Behavior, but it pushed the queue too far.


I think my system is fine, is it just me?

Yeah, I'm running a 4080 + i5-12600KF and I can't get a stable framerate in combat rooms. I've tried changing the graphics settings, screen res, DLSS, etc. and nothing can keep it from being a slideshow in larger rooms.

Hey folks! Thanks so much for sharing this feedback and system specs. We wanted to let you know that we’ve just released a major performance patch that directly fixes the biggest FPS issues in the game.

Long story short: every previously spawned weapon was secretly running fire VFX during killstreaks... Even if it was 40+ weapons later :D It was absolutely demolishing performance.

That’s now fixed, and performance should be noticeably better across the board, especially during combat in later rooms. We’re still working on additional optimizations, but this was one of the biggest culprits.

In this update, CS has made commendable improvements to its animations, making them smoother and the frame rate more stable and fluid. Let's all be patient and wait for Valve's updates, as we all hope for CS to continue to improve and get better.

Yeah, Its a problem with people to think just because EGS says it, doesnt have to be true for the end user. On the UDK it shows improvements, but most people with UDK also have a high end computer. Not a mid end (For the current time of and date).

Ark is a huge example of this recently, they released 5.5.

Everyone was hyped, but the end user experience, was worse. Less average FPS, Enforced framegen(again <- this being the main cultprit cause you're not to use framegen on advice under 60).

As a crack addict, if people were to ask me if I wanted more crack, I would just say yes.
