Let’s be clear — we’re on the same level here: Asmond’s hygiene is out of this world, and some of his takes on politics (and even game ownership, how he handles critical voices, his doxxing behaviour) are questionable.

That said, some of his points are just common sense — I think we can agree on that, right?

Is Asmond someone you should blindly follow just because he says something? Definitely not. But if you look into the broader Visa/Mastercard debacle, you’ll see this isn’t about Asmond, his hygiene, or his opinions on other topics — it’s about consumer rights being violated.

The OP’s post isn’t perfect, but in essence, he’s right.
Forget Asmond — I don’t care about him, I care about my personal freedom.

We as gamers, YouTube viewers, whatever — we can band together like we did during the PSN/Sony backlash, the Stop Killing Games movement, you name it.

One issue right now is Visa censorship — and what we can do is build up a countervoice until politics take over.

Something similar happened to me, I was a bit late on this topic because the video about the topic was called something like "the steam censorship situation is insane" and I just assumed it was some more blown out of proportion clickbait stuff but turns out this time it was topic actually worth discussing.

False on all counts in terms of modern day computing.

1.) Motherboard stopped having integrated GPUs many, many years ago. If memory serves, AMD stopped offering it after the FX era and Intel stopped once they reached the Core 2 era. No motherboard has contained an iGPU since.

2.) Intel has had iGPUs within their CPUs for decades now, and AMD started making it standard with the Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. A simple Google search would have told you that. Here is the product page for the Ryzen 5 7600, which clearly has a "Graphics Capabilities" tab, showcasing that it has an iGPU with 2 cores at 2200 Mhz: https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/desktops/ryzen/7000-series/amd-ryzen-5-7600.html

3.) The only "work" that motherboards do in terms of iGPU support is having wiring for the display output ports connected to the appropriate pins of the CPU and by having an interface controller to allow for USB C ports on the motherboard to have DisplayPort Alt mode support enabled, allowing you to output the iGPU via USB-C.

Correct, checking your connections for display is essential if you have a discrete GPU for gaming to ensure you are actually utilizing it.

Motherboard have not had integrated GPUs for a long, long time. You are using extremely outdated knowledge to argue modern-day computing. You don't need a beefy GPU to display your desktop for standard use. You DO need a beefy GPU if you are doing realtime 3D rendering, shader compiling and texture storage/display.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how motherboards, CPUs and GPUs work today, and I can keep explaining it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
