Someone else with that error and that had potentially fixed it said:

1. Run EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe in the game folder ("steamapps/common/Glacier Events/EAAntiCheat" normally)
2. Click uninstall
3. Click repair and select the game folder (same as above, but stop at "Glacier Events")
4. Let it finish
5. Maybe this worked?

The amalgam boss mission is on a weekly reset, it can be farmed with lowered drop rates after doing it once weekly and the event where it could spawn in other missions is ended. Now there is a chance for smaller, weaker amalgamations spawning on missions and a seperate boss mission which is the weekly amalgam boss mission. As for if it will go away or not, there isn't a stament on it yet, I'd assume it will stay for a long while if anything.

I'm in the same boat. When I go into Steam settings, it fully recognizes every controller input, but the game itself doesn't respond to any inputs and I can't get past the opening menus. I've made sure everything is updated and restarted everything, of course. No luck.

maybe because you either play solo, or you not unlocked of configured your weapons yet.
reaction time should not be the issue here specialy not if you gamed a lot over the decades.

countrary to many beliefs in such a case you can call yourself a constantly trained person wich usualy reflects into your reaction actualy not dropping at all or very very very tiny amount wich still makes you on par with the younglings.

mine also did not drop at least not really.

what did drop tho is the ability to pick up a new game with all its detail quicker but thats something time will handle anyways.
