One of the things I liked about CoH (I don't play anymore) was the community. Seeing as you run rampant on these forums and are quite possibly one of the most toxic fans of a game I've seen in a while... If you're representative of the community for it, I think steering clear of this game's a good bet.

This forum has a lot of passion, especially from non-supporters of the game. If you want to experience the community of players of Ship of Heroes, I encourage you to check out the forums on our website. Ship of Heroes' community is so friendly and forgiving it is a pleasure to be on the customer service desk. I think this is something you do not hear often.

Of course it's not realistic game of tactics. Whoever said it was? You can look at the marketing and see all kinds of units spanning from antiquity up through the renaissance and spanning multiple continents. I knew what it was before I logged in the first time.

If you wanted historical relevant units and tactics, then you need to look at some of the 'Total War' games (not including Warhammer).

Hers also has a pc that could only run cyberpunk on release on low settings but project silverfish runs perfectly fine for hers, and hers is using hardware from nearly a decade ago. What is most likely the issue is simply what hardware you have rather than how new or high-spec it is, as the game's tooltips in the graphics menu mentions that some effects may improve performance when on depending on what you're running it on. It could also be issues with rendering, particle effects, (many anomalies are made up of shadows and particle effects, and if there's a lot in a concentrated area then that can cause slowdowns) weather, even the amount of enemies. (the ai is very competent and therefore requires a lot of resources to run, especially in areas like the slums)

And I wasn't saying 'you don't need to own the game to see how active it is', but trying to feel included into the community and have a say at every turn goes really silly if you didn't even bother actually becoming part of it.
