This is my player-prev.log from the 14th. The game was locked up today, showing "STOPPING" in Steam, where it usually says "PLAY". I was going to just log off the computer, and log back on, but it had pending updates, so I let it Update/Reboot and then when I restarted the game, it put me way back to an old place in the game. I forget what told me it was from June. I tried restarting once more and it put me in the same place with none of my bindings, again. This log is 6k, and the one from today is 265k.

I used it throughout the campaign when I needed to soak damage or hold a choke point. This strategy made Jules of all all people the best candidate for main tank! Because he joins early there's a lot of opportunity to capture objectives with him to get a high leader score.
By abusing his Archer Captain ability (If you look at 1:17 you'll see is squad is 82 of 75) I could guarantee a large squad.

Yeah, that feels like cheating to me, though. Clearly it's a bug that you can do that. Not to mention it's a pain to upgrade/downgrade units every time you want to change something in that squad...

Anyway, if I did want to use this tactic, I'd say Narima is the best candidate, since she is a much stronger character than Jules and has a ranged attack of her own.

Downside of this tactic is that it would count for magic fatigue, so you'll have reduced magic damage and healing in the enemy round. Probably best to use it in squads without healers or mages.

Though to be honest, I never really felt the need to defend chokepoints. Probably my tactics are much more aggressive. I almost never used cautious attack. If a chokepoint needed defending I'd put Diana with the blood shard & life drain talents in there. (I was lucky enough to find that item early.)
The fact that it does take so long to do and requires insane micromanaging of resources IS the reason the squad captain trick didn't feel like cheating to me. I did consider using Narima but since she cannot change class she cannot be a Calavary unit so you cannot get the required Calvary to become a Calvary squad. She also joins late and with low leader so I was never able to get her Leader stat high enough. The only other hero that you could use would be Barnabas but you'd have to sacrifice a Valk/Hospitar for that.
I'm curious about the magic fatigue though, Is that tired to Morale? I had Popular Support and Supply Chain Mastery so that My Squads would get healed every turn but it did feel like the healing was keeping up better than usual.
