Don't use startup launch parameters, useless imo. I mean, some of them might work but in the Rust menu you can change most of the settings there anyways.
If you start "fine" with decent fps at 50+ and it drops down half hour later, it's either Rust eating your Ram or CPU / GPU overheating that's my guess.

I got a RTX 3080 and it overheats just by looking at it, so I have undervolted it as volt in general is what causes heat, and or drop down core mhz - You won't see any difference but your GPU will feel the difference temp wise (lower it first by 100mhz and see first).

I use HWmonitor, good app to check for high / low / average temps.

How much Ram your got? Right on my computer Rust eats 12,7gb of Ram, that's about everything up to 80% high details. ( Don't have bloom, blood on screen etc. ) and Render distance at 2,000 and Resolution at 3840x2160 - 80+fps

EDIT: Go to Experimental in Rust options, what is your GC Buffer at ? Mine is at 4084, but I have 47,9gb of memory (4th stick broken)

I tried different GC Buffer parameters. I will say this, graphics settings do not affect my fps at all. Even ultra, even the lowest - there will be no result. 5070 is not loaded at all in rust, and i7 7700k is loaded at about 70% with a temperature of about 73 degrees (for this processor this temperature is normal) I also have an m2 ssd and 32 GB of RAM.
