I'm absolutely shocked by DICE's decision to force a kernel-level anti-cheat and require players to manually enable Secure Boot in their BIOS just to play the game.
This is not just invasive, it's outrageous.
Kernel-level software has full access to your system. You're asking players to compromise their own device’s security and privacy on the assumption that your system will be safe and bug-free which, let’s be honest, it rarely is.
And now you want users many of whom aren't tech experts to tinker with their BIOS settings? That’s not only risky, but absurd. BIOS settings are delicate, and Secure Boot isn't something you turn on lightly.
It’s bad enough that anti-cheat software is becoming more and more intrusive, now you're essentially asking us to open the doors to our entire system and hope nothing breaks.
If this is the future of gaming, count me out. Fix the cheating problem without turning players into system engineers. This level of control over a game is simply unacceptable.

No one is “forcing” players into dangerous BIOS interventions – rather, this is a deliberate design choice in the fight against modern cheating techniques.
Enabling Secure Boot and using kernel-level anti-cheat software is not an outrageous invasion, but a logical response to an increasingly professionalized cheating ecosystem.

If you choose to engage in competitive online gaming, you should also be prepared to meet the fundamental requirements for fairness – and that includes a secure and cheat-free system.
I do find it funny people like to say in defence it leaves them open to being hacked. Or the company being compromised like- Don't people already get their steam accounts hacked by clicking on links they shouldn't?

Or, if these companies WERE really taking data unrelated to Gameplay, they would have already been sued into oblivion by the government(s).
