Overall Game Design is weird

So, i've played a game a bit, unlocked around 60% items and noticed quite a few really baffling things.
For example:
  • Some character passives are either useless, almost useless or not passives at all:
Hybrid's passive does nothing 99.9% of the time, he literally has no passive.
Pandora passive is a gimmick for 1 skill. That's it, no interactions with 75% of her kit.
Void Form's passive is a gimmick for 1 skill, again.

  • I think all characters have 1 skill that is objectively not worth using, or is detrimental
    to their kit:

Hybrid is this game's RoR2 Commando+Huntress skill set wise, but with a fireball?
Why? It has a long cast time, mediocre damage and splash at best, long cd, no
commando's grenade stun. What is the point of fireball? Token AOE? He has glaive
    for that.

Bird dude, melee one. Again, useless 2nd skill. Low damage, no potential, no
    synergy, nothing.

Pandora is the actual Commando of this game: low damage, low health, mediocre
mobility, and useless passive that does pretty much nothing. Looks like a mage, skills
look mage-y but passive makes you thinks she is autoattacker when in reality it is a
1/5 of ukulele. And static healing field - that one is simply bad skill. Game
is about positioning and moving, especially for paper-thin char like pandora, no one
has time to stand and wait for mediocre healing in small aoe. Devs literally slapped a
bungus on a Commando's tactial roll and called it a day.

Void Form's kit has only 1 good skill and it is her 4th one. She is RoR2 Merc, but
stripped of all the fun things. Slow passive stacking for a mediocre skill with some
    shotgun potential.

  • Why there is so much "stand in area" objectives when game tries it's utmost to force
player to move around and avoid damaging aoe's? You can get "Acid Rain" event
with totem charging or 3 small circles charging and acid rain might make it
impossible to stand in the objective.
Why 200% difficulty Immortal is even a thing? Yet another enviro hazard? Why does
he oneshots? At least in RoR2 malachite or collapse mobs could be laser focused
and removed from the fight, but here it is a run ending annoyance.

  • Unlock tokens, medals, whatever.
So, you are playing the game, unlocking achievements that allow you to unlock items
for boss tokens. All nice and good. You can pick and choose what you want, what to
delay, etc. But then you realise that item ban is per run.
    Why?
This is so backwards, that is creates a situation where it is more advantageous to
NOT unlock items and not to dilute item pool with different items.
It is Lunar coins situation all over again, where players are just cheat in a billion of
them to never think about that mechanic ever again.

To be honest, game is quite fun, but like half of the time a catch myself thinking "Why is that a thing? Why devs did this or that? This is detrimental. Why mobility cooldowns on melee are so long?"
Decent game, good foundation, obvious RoR2 inspiration but lacking in a lot of different things.

5 ppl who hate challenge and fun jester reacted you
I think you have the wrong idea here man, it's not really that people here dislike fun or anything, some people just already find stuff like the sword boss and Knight too difficult to enjoy fighting, this game has a wide audience and only some of them actually are like, well and truly "good" at the fight mechanics, it's generally speaking a pretty casual game and so a lot of people dislike the idea of purposely inflating the difficulty for those who find it too easy because they've been playing Undertale and fan games for the last decade. I personally quite enjoy a good challenge, but especially if it's going to be a required boss (not saying sword or knight are) people want it to be a fairly reasonable challenge for the experience they've gotten from the game itself rather than difficult to the point where only a portion of the playerbase can beat it. The Knight fight, for those who've only had these 4 chapters to play, is already more than a challenge that'll take hours to complete, and for a chapter 4 boss, that's already plenty difficult for when it's placed in the game, Deltarune and Undertale aren't rage games, any future challenges will feel proportional to the experience you can get from playing the games themselves, which is why people complaining that the hardest boss at the halfway point of the game in a mostly narrative game being too easy for their 10+ years of experience in making purposely hard fights gets jester emoted at, because the people who find Deltarune's knight too easy for example, have already spent a disproportionately large amount of time getting ungodly good at the fight mechanics compared to the general audience of the game, who are way less experienced and find the fight very tricky already.

Hope this explains it, did best to be respectful and stuff throughout, even with the long explanation, is just a difference in what people find fun, especially comparing those with 10+ years of experience to those who've just picked up the game for the first time (generally who games are built and designed for)
Reasonable take, though I will say that with enough practice, the Knight was already easy. The hardest part of the fight is getting used to the moves, and when you figure out the optimal ways to handle them, you start to make some serious progress. I'm all for nerfing an unfair hitbox, but it had been so overdone that the attack lacked all challenge. This is also not me complaining about the difficulty -- I think it's fine as is -- but I enjoy extreme challenges in games and I was hoping the Knight would be that. That's why I expressed my wish that future chapters would have truly brutal, yet enjoyable, fights.
