Do people think trolling is funny?

But that doesnt apply to 'trolling', its about bullying. Bullying is making threats or trying to terrify someone. Trolling is just saying stupid stuff until you get blocked.

Such behavior as witnessed in this thread went beyond "trolling".

The port is bad?

Depends on how you look at it. It's a barebones port with very few graphical and control options, but it's at least functional. The only major issue is a crash that sometimes happens in a single, specific section, and only if the internal resolution is increased. Other than that, it works great and features solid performance as well as ultra-fast load times. While it's certainly fair to say the port should have more features, I'd say it provides a sufficient enough experience.

Also, the minimum requirements listed on MGS2's Steam store page are definitely exaggerated. For some reason it won't launch on old yet sufficiently powerful GPUs (i.e. anything older than the GTX 900 series), but I tested it on a GTX 950, which is significantly weaker than a 970, and the performance was flawless with plenty of power to spare.

Now, if we were talking about the Switch port, I'd have a different story to tell that boils down to "WTF how did they make a 60FPS PS2 game run worse on overwhelmingly superior hardware???".

This is literally the best, most feature complete version of the game with bugfix mods.
It's not perfect; there's still bugs that weren't in the original PS2 version which haven't been officially or unofficially fixed (yet). That said, there's mods that fix blunders present in the original which I'm sure you of all people are more familiar with than anyone else. Ultimately, despite its remaining faults, I agree that this version is the best way to play MGS2.

MGS3's PC port on the other hand is a lot less ideal since it's missing most of the extra modes, namely Snake vs Monkey. However, there's a mod in development that aims to bring back the missing content (sans MGO & Guy Savage), so perhaps someday it'll become the best version.

Why would I buy a game I can easily emulate
Emulating MGS2 is much more demanding and less stable than this native PC version.
