Yeah its true, DS2 is literally the only Fromsoft game that you ever need a shield

First you say that being able to circle bosses as easily as you can isn't an issue because it requires a shield, talking as if shields aren't a normally occurring thing that people use. Then a post later say that in DS2 shields are required. You aren't seeing how you keep contradicting yourself?

And in DS1 it wasn't quite so easy to just shield through everything. There were attacks that you really needed to avoid. Like you can't just shield through the bridge dragon's fire, even if you have a fire resistant shield. The extended jet burns right through your stamina and then kills you.

The gaping dragon was one of the coolest bosses ever. The design was awesome and it had a whole bunch of attacks. It's charge move would just knock you down and shred through you. Getting caught in it is pretty much a guaranteed instant death. The boss becomes really easy once you know it's attacks and how they work, but man, that first fight was incredible.

In DS2 it's a bunch of knight characters with 2-3 different attacks. Like Velstadt. I've heard people regard him as one of the best bosses in the game. What are his attacks? Swoop, swoop, donk. Swoop, swoop, donk. He did a thing half way through that I assume is powering up like Artorias, but I wouldn't know because unlike Artorias this guy was a pushover and I was able to easily block it with minimal loss to my stamina. He didn't even seem to speed up at all so it was very easy to back off and recharge my stamina when needed.
