EXA developed the changes themselves, you completely ignored that. EXA licensed the game and they created their own version of it. You're implying that this is an issue with design, when the reality is that this has ALWAYS been the way of ports. Sometimes radical changes between various ports of games, sometimes faithful.

Calling it a "Tiered Release" isn't really true, EXA wants arcade titles and they have done this with more than just Earthion. You can play a version of some indie beat em up where they also licensed the Samurai Pizza Cats property. They will do things that will make their version seem or come off as definitive because, again, they pay for the license and then develop their idea of how the game should operate on a for profit platform.

You're then attributing those changes to Yuzo Koshiro and Makoto Wada and whoever else worked on the actual original console version. Something that's going right over your head is that the game is still being worked on, the very version you think has snubbed you... is due for release next year, so we have no idea how much the game is going to change between now and then.

The "better music" and such is outside of the scope of what the project is, which is a game that is supposed to push the Mega Drive/Genesis, not cheat at it. No one's gonna make you stop thinking that it's a better version except you, but you're sounding upset and sour grapes about a version that isn't even artistically in the scope of what Earthion's supposed reason for being is, which is to show how to push the Mega Drive.

If you think this is some new, unprecedented thing to slight you or anyone, you're wrong.

You even handwave people who might be upset that some "10-20 year old game" is okay, like the exclusive version of Gimmick! Like, please shut up and stop crying.

I think it might be going over my head because I haven't heard of this. Where did you hear about the eXA release coming to steam next year?

Also...when did I handwave anyone? I don't remember talking about Gimmick. That sucks too. Also, if they wanted to show how to push the mega drive, why did they then release a version with superior bullet visibility in the arcades?
