DDoS? Does VAC cover that?

Many times my GMod server has been DDoSed and I was wondering if VAC can cover that?

Nope. That is the server provider's responsibility (firewall and server setup). VAC only detects known cheats.

DDos Is illegal and you can go to jail for doing that stuff in Sweden America Australlia....

VAC doesn`t Cover ddos, when someone sends an attack to yuor server ip it goes straight to the host. some hosts also has ddos-protection but if it is a big attack it probably won`t hold it. and the server will crash.

No, I would go to the police if your server is being DDoSed. It is illegal.

Yeah, pretty sure the police could help (sarcasm). 4 times I have been DDoSed. You really think there are authority on Steam?

DDoSing is illegal and it's against the law. If you get DDosed unplug your modem/ or router and ask for a new ip. Of course there are the VPN servers in which you can change your ip but a good VPN server costs.

VAC is detecting multihacks cheats unlockers etc.

To be honest I'm always doubtful of these "I have been DDoSed" claims. Given that most people on the internet dont have the actual resources to pull that off.

True that. The server lags for a few seconds and everyone claims ddos. They think everything is a ddos.

Either you've set the server up wrong or there's a virus on it and causing chaos.

Like Satoru says, that is not a ddos. A ddos is just requesting worthless info from the server over and over. It can not cause missing files from your server. That is certainly on your end.

VAC protects you against cheats. DDoS attacks can, for example, also be done via pinging the server. And VAC can't cover you against anything not happening ingame.
