Is x360ce something you can be banned for?
I saw a thread that said x360ce is something not known to cause bans, but I saw someone else say that they got banned for using it. I would like to know, because I don't want to be banned, or considered a cheater. I just want to be able to use my gamepad.

Is that some sort of cheat? VAC bans for cheats. Cheaters lie and make up stories.

x360ce allows me to use my gamepad like it's a XBOX 360 controller. The ce stands for controller emulator. You have to replace a few directx.dll type files to get it to work though. I even get rumble support, and can use both of my gamepads(they both register in the same slot without the program) at the same time for certain games.

No, it will not get yo banned. IT does not effect the .dll or .exe files of the game. It only converts commands from the controller.

Ok, thank you. I'm a bit paranoid sometimes. I want to make sure I don't do something stupid and get myself banned.

The graphics mods do the same thing, the same way, yet no moderator seems willing to make a comment about those..

Nothing wrong with being vigilant and careful.

Mods don't make the determination as to what results in a ban and what doesn't. They also wouldn't be party to all of the info about what specifically will trigger a VAC ban, as Valve simply doesn't discuss it other than to say "don't use cheats". It's not like being a mod makes you omniscient. o.O
