I've waited a prison sentence.

I was 15 when I was vac'd(for 7.5 years). I made some incredibly poor choices when I was 15. It's not an excuse, I know. But I feel that hope at the end of the nightmare, for example, a long time limit before being able to play again is far more meaningful than an indefinite ban. I messed up once, neglecting the idea at the time that CS was my favorite shooter ever. I'll never get to play again now. Till the day I die I'll feel that a consequence worse than one you'd get for robbing a bank is unfair. Over the last 7 years I've changed a multitude of times growing into adult hood and most importantly my respect for gaming has changed. Not as a result of this ban but as a result of the hours spent playing games competitively. None the less. I'll always view Valve as a scummy service for permanently punishing people and neglecting that some people don't take second chances lightly. Love to the community <#

Ban is permanent.
Valve tried making vac bans temporarily and cheaters just kept cheating. You have had 7 years to make a new account.

cheaters are scummy. removing cheaters is not scummy. they tried temp bans, they did nothing. you knew what you were doing when you cheated, and you knew you were ruining others peoples game and wasting their time for you own personal amusement.

your account is banned, not you. you have the option of start over fresh, unlike a person that has actually done prison time and has a record that is permanently going to follow them for the rest of their life.

How do you think those that were cheated against that resulted in the ban on this account would feel about Valve if they were to unban your account ?

Sorry, all VAC bans are permanent. This is just a user forum.

No. VAC bans cannot be appealed. If a VAC ban is issued incorrectly it will be automatically removed after investigation, but Steam Support does not manually remove VAC bans applied to accounts for any reason.

Whatever you say, whatever excuse you put , ban stays.

Indirectly you admitted of using cheats : "I made some incredible poor choices when I was 15".

Well, those choices are gonna pursue you in this case bc VAC is permanent , nothing you say, nowhere you post, no matter who you talk to , VAC is staying.

Next time don't use cheats and you'll be fine.

After 7.5 years the ban will fade away from your profile, it will not be shown ,but you'll still have it.

And also after 7.5 years it's time to make a new account and start over with CS. Now it's free, you'll only have to buy prime and that's it.
Just take into account there's still a lot of cheaters in mm and you might wanna play FIT or ESEA.

My point is that I don't want a new account, and this post also isn't meant to be a plea for help. I'm not asking for my account back. This is purely meant to be my view on the VAC system. When you can go online and download cheats like you're downloading a jpeg, not everyone in this case is a criminal. In fact I remember at the time the realization hitting after doing what I did. Before the VAC even came my way. Wolf Knight seems to think I think that cheating isn't scummy. If someone thinks people can't change after 5-10 years, you're mistaken. In fact, I have no desire to ever play CS ever again. I'm too busy and I'd be terrible. But I still think of that kid I was from time to time and that's what lead me to this post. I wont be commenting here again. Goodbye

As was explained above, under VAC 1 Valve did make bans temporary. After the bans expired, those that "promised" to learn from their evil ways and not do it again went right back to cheating.

So enter VAC 2, where all VAC bans became permanent. So yes, Valve does love the Community, so much so that they made all VAC bans permanent.

getting mad at the people that tell you the truth shows how little you have matured since the ban was applied. what you want does not matter. the only thing you will find on this forum is others that know how the system works.

if you have no desire to play again, why did you even bother making this thread? slim hope of getting unbanned by posting in a forum that has nothing to do with bans, nor is it a ban appeal forum.

Did you really expect everyone to just say, yea, all VAC bans should be allowed to be appealed and made temporary again, even though that has been proven to not work under the first implementation of VAC ?

If you can't handle disagreement, especially on a topic like this, then probably should follow your own advice before giving it to others, about "going outside" and whatnot.

I love how everyone that throws a fit here when they realize that an exception or rule won't be changed just for them always seems to bring up the "I didn't really want to unbanned anyway!" Followed by telling people to go outside.
