VAC BAN ON CS GO. HAVEN'T PLAYED SINCE MAY.
This makes absolutely no sense. I logged on to steam today and I am VAC banned on CS GO. I haven't played the game since May but I have been playing the game for years and NEVER have cheated or used any modifications of any kind. Please help me understand what has happened and how this can be fixed.

No one on the forums can remove nor investigate a ban. Only falsely applied VAC bans are removed automatically by the system at a later time.

Known cheats were detected on the computer when the account connected to a vac server. A cheat is any program that alters protected game files, it does not have to give an advantage (skin changers, 3rd party crosshair mods, etc).

You are responsible for the security of the account and what is on the computer(s) the account uses. It does not matter who was using the account to cheat. Bans are not instant, whatever you were doing at the time of the ban being applied is unlikely to be the cause of it.

Steam/Valve will not release any information about what was detected, that information will only help those that cheat and make cheats.

Please read the linked material and click the INFO link next to your ban notice on your profile for more information.

VAC bans are delayed from the time of the detection to the time that the ban is actually applied. What you were doing when the ban was applied, is irrelevant.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I've played more recently than you though (July 25th). I've tried contacting support online and over the phone. No one at Valve is willing to help people like us who have been VAC'd. I think we're both just ♥♥♥♥♥♥. It feels criminal but I'm sure the user agreement somewhere allows them to ♥♥♥♥ us over like this.

It's simple. VAC found something it didn't like and that's what got the account flagged for a ban. Valve's VAC team is constantly reviewing what VAC detects to make sure that only known cheats or improper game mods (pretty much all of them) will cause an account to get flagged. False bans are almost unheard of, but will be handled automatically if one actually happens (don't hold your breath).

....because Steam Support CANNOT remove VAC bans.

VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support.

I have never EVER installed a mod of any kind. I've been playing this game for years and years and have put money in to it. I am NOT happy. This makes no sense.

I'm in the same boat as you and I'm looking for common variables between all of our bans. Have you recently played the game, Cyber Hunter? Your profile is private so I cant check.

It's simple, VAC found something. That's the only way a VAC ban happens. It's 100% automated with no human actively involved. The only thing the VAC team does is verify data to assure that the reasons for bans aren't false, which almost never happens.

And while you may not have installed a cheat or mod, something did. Anything you have ever installed on your machine could have done so since you gave the install full access to modify your machine.

Cyber Hunter doesn't even use VAC.

What difference does that make ? VAC does not care what games you play.

VAC only cares IF identifiable cheats are detected WHEN you connect and play a VAC secure game ON a VAC secure server.

WELL WAIT FOR A SECOND, our vac ban (including me ;) I could be a valve VAC wave error. I have banned many people that do not cheat at all (like us) and I think that sending an appeal can make that Valve retire your vac ban

This is a user forum. Those replying to this thread are regular Steam users, just as the pinned thread explains.

No one here can investigate the ban on your account.
