Checking What Game You've Been Banned ON?
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a way to check what game you've been VAC banned on. The reason why I ask is because I was evidently VAC banned at some point today (or at least according to a site it was today). In the past week I've played Secrets of Grindea - alone, and Sword Coast Legends with 3 friends. I don't play any of those games that commonly have cheaters, and I don't cheat myself.

So I wonder because I want to know which game this issue may have occurred in, as I'm really quite confused at the moment.

Go to settings, account tab and next to VAC status click the "?"

Sword Coast Legends is Vac protected - so it's the possible cause.

Huh, interesting. I'll have to get in contact with them and see why I got banned, my friends and I were running a campaign a couple days ago, hopefully this is just a one-off issue that can be fixed.

Edit: It was indeed Sword Coast, I just launched it and it informed me I have been VAC banned. Time to go find out why.

Interesting that your accout still says your OK with VAC. Is it possible a server ban?

No, both Vacbanned and Steamrep shows he is Vac banned.

I find it odd that I got VAC banned considering I don't play any games illegitimately, and considering Sword Coast is a D&D game I'm not exactly certain what there is to cheat. That and it's brand new so I wouldn't think there would be a cheat out for it regardless. Oh well, I've sent them a message through their contact methods so now I wait.

I hope you will forgive me for this question, but can you please explain here why you said you did one game "alone" and the other with "3 friends" ? Does that mean you just played MP with them, or does it mean something else ?

Also, we have seen a few of these cases come up, with the list showing "good standing" and the OP not knowing what game the ban was for. Not sure if your issue is the same, but here is one I remember....

We were hoping the OP (of above linked thread) would post back, but so far it seems not so.

One problem seems to be that support will not give any details in these cases either, concerning a ticket that gets submitted asking the quiestion. The response just seems to always be something along the normal lines of "VAC ban is valid" or something similar. Asking support about this can maybe be a challenge when you consider that.

EDIT...Here is another one...

At the end of that thread, you can perhaps see why I can easily remember it...;)

To clarify, I played Secrets of Grindea (a game that has MP) by myself in single player, and Sword Coast Legends with my 3 friends, obviously in seperate sessions.

Thank you for your explanation here. I am sorry I cannot personally be more helpful. Did you see the other threads that I have linked here ? There certainly seems to be something going on with this issue of not being able to see what game(s) you are VAC banned in.

And, as far as I have seen, support just sends the normal message back when a ticket is submitted when asking about this "problem"....."VAC bans will not be lifted" or someting similar to that.

I can only suggest here that if you do submit a ticket about this, be very careful with the wording of that ticket when you describe your problem. Perhaps state something along the lines of "Something is wrong with my account, and information is not being displayed correctly or not at all."....you see ? Careful wording may be needed to get an actual human response.

It may take a long time and it may take more attempts than once, but you may not have any other choice. It would be nice in these cases to get a humam to just take a look and tell you what game you are banned from, if any. I am really sorry that I cannot be more helpful here as you seem to have a legitimate issue and just want an answer.

Sword Coast Legends support just got back to me and informed me the ban was not placed on their end...now I'm confused.

Game developer doesn't place a VAC ban

It was to my understanding that a Game developer could push forward a request for a VAC ban though.

It's an automated system. if it's pushed by developer then it would be a game ban

Fair enough then, my account did finally update with the question mark and it does state it's for Sword Coast Legends. I have to wonder why though...guess I wait the 3 years for Steam Support to get back to me.
