Friend got vacced for pretty much no reason. (CS:GO)
My friend got vacced for having apparently a malicious program installed and running. He ran a virus scan and found a program named: "HackTool:Win32/AutoKMS" He had no knowledge of its' presence, although he had odd occurrences in-game. He would be playing competitive in CS:GO and would suddenly be thrown into a "Surf" game. He'd generally have no say in the matter and would usually be unable to leave the game. I'm aware of VAC's zero tolerance and it may be hard to believe seeing as i could just be a cheater trying to get an account unbanned but this is NOT the case. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198161568030/ - That's a link to his profile, not sure if it'll be of any use in this situation but i decided to link it just for anyone who is curious to see it. I'm pretty aware that this will all be in vain but i'm still giving it a go because i think it's unjust. Please give any suggestions or try to give some insight on this situation, thanks for reading.

the ban was applied correctly, "intent" has nothing to do with VAC only that a hack was used and detected, so the ban will not be removed

account security is not the responsibility of valve

You don't know what the cause of your "friend's" VAC ban is. You cannot possibly know unless you are surgically or naturally and physically attached to that person.

Why not get your "friend" to post here if they are concerned about thier ban ?

Hello DK, all your friend can do is send a ticket to steam support. As you pointed out valve has a zero tolerance policy toward cheating, and if this ban really was a mistake, they are the only ones that can do anything about it. Good luck.

By the way, we love your alias on your profile...

Most friends that say they did not hack after a ban actually did hack. I have had many friends trough the years that have hacked under the radar while telling us he did not after he/she got banned. Hacking is a lazy persons road to glory until he/she gets caught. Some players get banned for the wrong reasons but most of the bans is applied for a reason. From my knowledge VAC do only ban you if you manipulate the files of the game.

I just felt like going out of my way to post, he personally gave up on trying to dispute the ban in any kind of way.

That alias was made as a joke name because i was trying to link my account to {LINK REMOVED} and it uses your alias to create an account name. The name DK was already taken so i decided to make that name so i could create an account, i personally chose it because i found it funny. I've been vacced for hacking in cs before and honestly don't plan on wasting my time again, so that alias will remain a joke and i will not be sent on a VACation.

So this sounds like your "friend" has already exhausted the possibiliy of a false ban and has already messaged support.

If that is the case, what do you think the we users here can do about it ? If Valve has verified the ban as legit, then that is it. The "friend" is done.

He hasn't actually messaged support because he couldn't find any way to message them regarding a VAC, he said that it just lead to pages saying that VAC has zero tolerance and other information.

AutoKMS is also not strictly malicious, and is in no way related to steam.

That is why the person with the ban needs to do the posting, as then we can refer them to the pinned thread at the top of this forum about VAC bans.

Oh, well have you ever heard of an issue with players being forced into "surf" games or anything similar to it?

Guys careful....posting about those "tools" may be bad to do here and get otherwise good users into trouble...just trying to help everyone out here...

It should be fine as we were not discussing how to obtain any such programs. It was just simply identified as a "malicious" program, i also never said or implied that i use such program and i also don't condone the use of them. Thanks for the warning though
