An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system. You cannot play on secure servers.
I have received this error twice while playing CS:GO, and have suffered a one day and a seven day ban for it. All the fixes on the Steam Support site were attempted, and they took me more than the 3 minute reconnect period to run through. This makes it literally impossible for me to reconnect to my comp games and keep playing once this issue appears. Can anyone tell me what's going on? There's no way I can possibly adore one of my favorite games if this keeps happening.

i've been getting this also and gotten multiple cooldowns from this. out of my 3 accounts, 2 now have 7 day cooldowns and one has a 24 hr and they all had no cooldowns before until this happens
When you close the error / the box that pops up it should tab you out of a game and open up a browser. which should tell you possible conflicting programs. i had this problem then i uninstalled iobit8 which apperently conflicted with vac.somehow.........
I have been having the same issue ever since I bought my computer and CSGO over a year ago. I tried everything possible, still not sure what it is. I just have to temporarily turn off my firewall everytime I want to play now.

I already ran down their long list of conflicting programs, and it didn't have any programs that I had installed. It worked when I did all the other stuff on the page, but that took too long and got me a cooldown.

I already have my firewall disabled, because it blocks some of my other games. So at least for me, I don't think the firewall is causing the trouble.
It just happened again. Another week long cooldown. I had to make a macro to be able to do the things they wanted me to in the time frame they gave me. My macro executed every instruction on their support page, but when i finished restarting my computer, just enough time to reconnect, but then it locks me out, with the same issue my macro was supposed to solve. I know the macro works because it worked before, when i was playing comp with my friends. This time, it didn't work, and i got nailed with a cooldown
try this yet?

run steam as admin. (right click steam icon, run as administrator)
press windowskey+R
type services.msc
locate "steam client service" (in services.msc)
enable it (if it is disabled)
check everytime before playing vac.

*can make services.msc a desktop of taskbar shortcut to check quicker.

becasue I trust my own ability to maintain my internet safety. It may mess me up eventually, but I'm a stubborn ass and its more convenient for me. Besides, its a desktop computer that i have connected to trusted networks all the time. Its not like I take it out to public where people can easily intall viruses without my knowledge. Everything I download still has to go through me, and I'm not completely inept.
OP, if you read the support page carefully and perform all the steps there correctly, and you have a look at this excellent guide made by the good Commander Makara, then you should get your issue sorted out.

You have to be willing to uninstall programs on your computer if it actually comes to that.

As a matter of fact, post a screenshot of ALL of your installed programs from the control panel view of your operating system.j

What operating system is this on ? If you have Windows 10, then did you upgrade to that operating system from a previous operating system ?

when you are connected to the internet, anyone can connect to your computer with an open port weather to just ping or to DOS/DDOS etc

there is a reason firewalls exist

Whatever. You have your opinion, and I disagree. This discussion was not meant for a debate about my firewall, but for answers on how to best resolve my VAC authentication error. If you don't intend to help out, please keep your trap shut.
