VAC ban for playing VPN to Asian servers (200+ ping)?

I just got VAC banned for playing on Korean servers and doing mediocre with 200-300 ping. I've never cheated in my life, I don't cheat at this game, I have almost 2k hours and been playing cs for over 20 years. Wtf is this?

I don't even have any other software running on my computer other than my VPN (one of the main VPN distributors), and YouTube to listen to music to.

I dunno how to get this fixed because there seems to be no support option to appeal or w.e.

no ban showing on the account you are posting with. if you are inquiring about another account, please provide a link or post with that account.

vac bans are only issued for known cheats being detected. just because a notice has VAC in it, that does not mean its a ban notice. read the message slower and do not stop at the word vac.

and learn what an anti cheat system is for. they dont stop cheating, the punish the account for cheating. if you think its so easy to make an anti cheat that can stop cheating, go make one, you will make millions every year leasing it to game companies.

It seems to be a false positive or something that got overturned quickly. I don't think I'm VAC banned anymore, it never showed on my profile but I got the error messages mentioning about VAC and it detecting software and not being able to connect to VAC secure servers that I don't have because I don't cheat and never have for over 20 years now.

I know VPNs don't give bans, I've been using them to play all regions for over a year now and I can still pwn noobs on 200-300 ping (which seems to what triggered the initial VAC even when I don't cheat).

It seems like someone there overturned it pretty fast or the automation did. I've been able to play CS2 without the prompts shortly after I made this post.

a real legend would know how to read messages. you were never vac banned, you had a vac error message. something on your computer was blocking vac. no one had anything to do with removing anything

the more you have to boast about how "good" you are the more you show how bad and unimportant you really are.

And Steam is over 20 years old. Your point again? CS 1.6 was released back in September 2003, over 20 years ago by now.

Just because you see the letters V, A and C doesn't mean you are banned. Read the message carefully next time. It was nothing more than something interfering with VAC on your PC that prevented you from connecting to secure servers. If you were banned, you'd see an in-game message, a red support notification on the banner and a red ban notice slapped on your profile.

Yet another textbook case of why people should stop misusing the word "ban" so much and use proper terminology.

As others said, you did not have a VAC ban, and this is one of the biggest problems within the community of misinformation about VAC being spread around so much.

People spread the word they had a "VAC ban that was removed" or "just went away" and they never had a "ban" in the first place.

This undermines the Community's faith in the antcheat that is VAC itself, as they are fearful of their account being banned "for no reason" because of "all the false positives" (misinformation).

I appreciate your sincerity, I've been playing csgo/cs2 for over 10 years now (and the franchise for over 20 before 1.6), I've never ever had an issue with VAC or being disconnected by VAC or receiving any sort of errors.

I received three separate errors multiple times and got disconnected mid game while top fragging on 200+ ping. Disconnected in the game then the following errors.

Error #1 - Matchmaking Failed - VAC was unable to verify your game session.

Error #2 - Disconnected - You cannot play on secure servers for one of the following reasons -An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system, You are unable to maintain a stable connection to the VAC system. You are running software that is modifying the game or is incompatible with VAC. For more info visit ------

Error #3 - Disconnected - Valve Anti-cheat challenge timed out. Please ensure that you are not using any programs that may interfere with VAC, and confirm that Steam is correctly installed.

You can try to rationalize well your high ping couldn't connect to VAC causing the issue, however, I still received the message after disconnecting from VPN and joining a more local server and still got dc'd with the errors.

This also doesn't factor in how I don't run anything on my computer playing CS2 other than YouTube, Steam, VPN, and sometimes Discord in the background (and no I don't have viruses or malware either -- and no, I have never used the nVidia smoke filter bs either).

I have never had this error message, I didn't have software running to "trigger" VAC or cause issues. I've been playing the game for 10 years with the same setup as I said above and never have been VAC "Errored" before until now.

Sure, maybe I wasn't ever "VAC banned" because their system authenticated me and found no cheats or etc and reverted the "warning/error". The only factor that I can conclude with all the information is that I either got reported a bunch triggering the "check/disconnect", or I was playing so well that the algorithm/VAC Live couldn't discern if I was legit or not (and I'm the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ legit, buddy).
