GAME BAN Bugs With High DPI Rotation
GAME BAN, My $40000 skin account has ended due to high DPI rotation (played for 4000 hours) in CS2
2023/11/4 Update

Hello, everyone , Moderators

Until Valve clears our names, I don't care how you label us, whether it's as liars, cheaters. Arguing about these matters is meaningless.Of course, I can't vouch for whether any players other than myself have used cheats or if there is indeed a cheater among our team.

The occurrence of the incident

I obtained access to CS2 testing on September 28th

I have been playing CS2 from September 28th to October 14th and during that period, everything was normal

The occurrence of the ban

On 10/14 in the middle of the night, I discovered that my main account had received a GAME BAN.

But i have another account(XX), which I use exclusively for CS1, as I didn't join CS2. This account remained unaffected and didn't receive a GAME BAN.

Confused

I initially wondered if perhaps I had been reported by teammates or strangers during my matches the day before, but I felt my performance was quite average.

Therefore, on 10/16, I sent two emails to Valve. One was addressed to the CSGO Team Feedback regarding trust factor at CS2Team [at] valvesoftware [dot] com. The other email was sent through Steam Support. But Steam support but didn't get any useful respon. They only told me that the information has been handed over to the responsible team.

Suspecting the possibility

On the day of the ban, on October 14th, during my warm-up time in leisure mode, I used my mouse to raise the DPI and rotate it, When I returned from dinner, I received a game ban.

Testing another account(XY)

And on 10/25, because my main account has been banned, I decided to use another account (XY) to play. This account (XY) is a friend's account and has not played CS1 or CS2 before. Then, using high DPI rotation, playing a few CS2 games ended. Surprisingly, the account (xy) was quickly banned from the game.

I'm not sure if this issue is the cause of the BAN, but I have shared the details with you.

So why aren't there as many people affected by this recent wave of mistaken bans?

Only a few players are using high DPI rotation and have been reported as OverWatch, but CS2 has not yet had an OverWatch. This group is quite small, and that's precisely why we are speaking out.

Here are the current posts in the CSGO discussion board, and these people share similar experiences with me:

(1). https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/3881597531968050338/

Users who are suspected to be affected

But we have discovered some common characteristics!

(1).Their accounts are mostly old accounts, with over 5 years of history.
(2).Their playtime ranges from approximately 500 to 2000 hours, and even more.
(3).Around September 28th to present, some of them started receiving GAME BANs.

These signs make it seem like perhaps cheaters during this period went a bit wild? They chose to use cheats on their old accounts? Or maybe Valve's anti-cheat system had some issues?

Self-declaration

Lastly, I want to reiterate that I've invested a lot of time and effort into this account. I love the Steam platform and enjoy playing games like CSGO, APEX, Dota 2, Battlefleld 2042, and more. I have never considered cheating to solve any problems, which is why my playtime is high. While I don't like to bring this up, my inventory does have some value. No one would risk using an account of such value for cheating, and I hope Valve can see this.

To be honest, we've tried various ways to appeal this issue, but Valve's lack of response or action is something we cannot accept. So, we are speaking out to defend ourselves.

We have submitted complaints through several channels, but none have received a response:

1.STEAM support center.

2.Vacreview[at] valvesoftware [dot] com

3.cs2team [at] valvesoftware [dot] com

4.Gaben [at] valvesoftware [dot] com

5.Counter-Strike: Global Offensive discussions. (These discussions are often locked by moderators, preventing us from gathering more people to voice our concerns.)

6.Reddit

We earnestly request the moderators not to delete our posts. Please listen to our thoughts. We don't want to argue about who among us might have cheated or not. We just want the truth.

If possible, we need more players with similar cases to come forward and ask VALVE to investigate and fix this bug.
So we can get justice.

Thank you to everyone on this board.

If anyone can get in touch with Valve staff, please let me know. Thank you.

I've also created a Steam group. If there are individuals with similar experiences, please feel free to apply for membership directly.

Show me where it says "game ban forum" at the top, please.
Damn, if what you say is true, I hope you end up getting unbanned buddy
TL;DR: Your game ban has nothing to do with this forum.
Playtime and inventory value are never considered when it comes to any bans, VAC or game ban, doesn't matter. We have seen dozens of players being banned left and right arguing about the same thing. It's pointless. So that alone is not a good point to bring up into the discussion.

Is this some kind of new copypasta?

Every time something is found out to possibly cause a falsely applied ban, the community will latch onto it as their new excuse.

:summercat2023:
Game bans are still off-topic here.

:gilga:
Technically, even VAC bans are off topic here.

Absolutly and this time the excuse isnt technicly valid either , alot of these ppl claim they impersenated a spinbotter for the lols of it.
Skipping over the fact valve stated themselves that
"players should not enter a match with the intention of losing or disrupting their teammates."

Its clearly disrupting a game if your trying to look like a spinbotter.

and Valve also states in the guidelines :
"Failure to play following these guidelines may result in various penalties, including cooldowns, communication restrictions, and Game Bans."

Not that im buying the stories but the excuse itself is a pointless one.
Also the excuse "i have so much playtime and an expensive inventory" doesn't mean one can't cheat or get banned for other reasons. Both mean nothing, really. It doesn't make you more trustworthy nor does it implicate the ban must be false.

Game ban cannot be fake. Vac anticheat can make mistakes, because there is no perfect software. But the bans are checked, and those few wrong ones are removed. But I repeat, Game Ban cannot be wrong :-). There is no error, not even 0%. There is no need to doubt that at all.

False bans are real, even false game bans exist. They are just extreme rare.

That probably depends also on the game in question. I have seen people getting their game bans removed in the past, they are just very rare. Most of these bans are also automatically applied, like with VAC, there is no perfect solution as you wrote yourself.
Damn, at first I believed in OP's version because who in their right mind would cheat with an inventory like that? But now, after reading all those comments, idk what to think.
From my understanding, typically only individuals who are very unsuccessful in real life resort to cheating in video games, as victories, albeit unfair, allow them to compensate for their lack of achievements and dull life in reality. However, if you can afford a video game inventory worth $50k like OP, you are most likely a highly educated and successful individual, living a dream life. Whyyyy? What is the point of cheating in that case? I just can't get my head around it.

False bans will always be removed so if you believe you are innocent then you just have to patiently wait. There has been two major incidents of false bans being widely issued in the past month and many of these have already been rectified.

The problem is many legitimately banned users leech off of situations like this in a shameful attempt to get unbanned when they know their ban is unrelated and correct.

All you can do is worry about your own ban and await until the situation is resolved.
Win hard enough and maybe you will.....win.
