That is NOT why VAC bans are applied for using a skin-changer.

Skin-changers are classified as cheats, as they should be..

they work exactly like a cheat and modify protected game files/memory. They can easily make your opponents skins neon. It is not necessary for VAC to tell the difference between them as modifying protected game files or memory is not allowed anyway.

all VAC bans come from the detection of a known cheat, whether it is used on the account itself or some sort of sharing has occurred (account, library or phone number).

Users are responsible for the security of the account and all that happens on it

What is VAC?

yeah, he is right, i may have gotten banned because i didnt know they were banable. They shouldnt be banable but they are. Can i do anything about it? No. Its stupid but i gotta deal with it i guess

The "advantage" comes from you skipping payment while using something you're supposed to "own", aka have purchased. Think as if you just screenshot an NFT. The blockchain won't recognize you as the owner, and neither does Valve if you apply skins via skin-changers, except Valve will punish you if you attempt it.

i mean, isnt the punishment a little exaggerated? I mean hackers get a game ban and i get removed my ability to trade. Is that really fair?

AGAIN: VAC bans for cheats, it does not care how many skins you steal, it DOES NOT ban for stealing skins, that is completely coincidental.

SKIN-CHANGERS are CHEATS as they modify protected game memory/files. THAT is why accounts using them get banned. It is NOT monetary. It is because skin changers modify these locations and VAC bans for THAT.

Nothing to do with money directly. It's because of what SKIN-changers do and CAN do. There is no need to differentiate between different aspects as it id NOT allowed.

MODIFYING game memory or files will result in a VAC ban. Period.
