Spacewar? (please read my post before assuming)
Listen, to start out, I understand what having Spacewar NORMALLY means. I'm just wondering if HAVING it on my account will subject me to getting VAC banned? I was actually playing the REAL Spacewar with a buddy (it's a lot of fun after a few drinks). While finding out about the game, I learned that it's mostly used for cracked games, tricking steam into thinking it's playing Spacewar. Again, I was playing the real game, and not pirating. What are the chances my account gets a VAC ban over it? Thank you!

VAC only bans for the detection of identifiable cheats, either used directly on the account in question, or related to family sharing, phone number sharing, or account sharing where such cheats are detected.

That's awesome! I saw all of this stuff on google about people getting VAC banned with Spacewar. Thank you!

You will see a lot of nonsense claims about what people say causes a VAC ban on the internet, sadly.

Also, funny thing is, they "can't" really know what caused their VAC ban, officially.

Because even Valve will not tell them what the exact cause was. They have no official source telling them that.

What usually happens is, a VAC ban shows up and people think what they are doing at that moment was the cause. But what really happened was, the ban was just delayed in application until that moment.

So you will see all kinds of nonsense like that. But here, we try to focus on the facts.

Believe me, I appreciate the facts! Very glad to know that people are dumb,

You are welcome. Questions like this are surely welcome here, as that is actually part of what this forum is really for.

You should be fine, as long as no identifiable cheats are detected in any way as I described in my first post.

I don't cheat. If I did, I would be Grand Champion in Rocket League by now lol, thank you for the help!

You don't get a VAC ban by having Spacewar on your account. If you use it to pirate games, your account gets suspended. MUCH worse than ANY type of ban.

YIKES that's bad. I never knew that steam can suspend your account for pirated games. I guess you learn something every day lol

It's in the terms of service which you should have read when you opened your steam account, tho. :)

It was 7 years ago, and I as like 14 or 15, so if I did read the T&C, I definitely don't remember them lol, but obviously I know that pirating, cheating, etc, is against the ToS so no worries there haha
