If any actual identifiable cheats were in that download or installation of that "software", then you log on to a VAC secure server and they get detected, then yes, that will trigger a VAC ban.
Just beacuse it says it does "X" does not necessarily mean it won't also do "Y" and "Z".

Use caution when installing any game modifications like scripts or custom skins, and only download custom content from trusted sources. Hackers may maliciously disguise their cheats to cause others to get banned.
I guess if you are using some weird third party software from a site you don't trust, I'd avoid it.
If you are using macros for things like bunny hopping or other glitchy things, you can probably get a server ban.
It may cause a server or game ban, depending on the game, but keyboard or mice macros should be fine, IF they are official of course.
An example, in War Thunder, rather than hitting three buttons to call for backup via the voice command system, I just hit one.
It's actually all I use my macro keys for. Just voice commands.
I am a simple man.
Long answer, possibly. I believe there are certain ways to use autohotkey that will result in a VAC ban. But if you simply have it running, then no. It shouldn't cause a VAC ban.
If you're worried about it, then don't do it.
Says on TF2/CS:GO you can always use scripts (since these two games have built-in scripting system) bound to a certain key to make some actions, so you don't have to use AHK.
From Autohotkey = YES
"Software or hardware functionality with a potential to offer competitive advantage" are 'cheats' defined according to your agreement. As such, any presence of such detected can result in a VAC ban.
If you are unsure as to whether or not a particular hardware or software will or will not result in a VAC ban, the recommended option is to refrain from using such, given the permanency of VAC bans.
AHK does not generally result in VAC bans for simple usage, however when combination macros are employed and automation (e.g. reducing recoil, prevention of autokick, bunnyhopping etc.) is employed, Game bans are justified.
Either wayt, it make s absolutely NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever what any responses here will tell you.
Any Steam user may tell you:
1) AHK will result in a permanent ban.
2) AHK will not result in a permanent ban.
3) AHK may result in a permanent ban.
Regardless of which of the above you choose to believe, the only way to be assured of reliable determination according to the authority (in this case, Valve or HPEnt) would be to use the software for a signidficant duration - followign which, either the account will be banned or it will not be.
You will not be in any position to claim that "user x told me it was safe" in mitigation of any ban, the account responsibility is yours and yours alone.
