What programs get you VAC banned?

I play TF2 and I've seen people using [removed] get VAC banned before and I was wondering what kind of programs can get ytou VAC banned? I already know about SAM and aimbot/spinbot, but can macros get you VAC banned? Also I do CS:GO sometimes.

Basically any program that modifies you core game files will get you banned. Library sharing, sharing your phone number/account will get you, and a few more things.

Just make sure if you cheat in, let's say, Minecraft, make sure the cheat is completely only for Minecraft. But In source games scripts like Bunny Hop and some crosshairs changers can get you banned.

Valve does not tell anyone exactly how the VAC system works. This is the link to the official Valve Web page about how it works https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7849-Radz-6869 Everything else is just speculation.

Not talking about the bans, but the fact that is "cheating". Personal trigger, don't mind it much.

I doubt scripts that you enter into a config file then execute will get you VAC banned. You might get banned from community servers or Overwatched (if on CSGO) but probably not VAC banned.

If you were using a 3rd party tool that does the bunnyhopping or whatever for you, then it's a bit different and you might get a VAC.

So, what are you basing your doubts on? If OP does get a VAC ban based on this it's no skin off you're nose,right?

I'm basing it off experience. You don't get VAC bans for using console commands, which is essentially what scripts are. If you used a 3rd party program to do it for you, then it's different and that might get you VAC banned.

Community servers may ban you because they don't allow them, but you will not be VAC banned for it.

Pretty sure SAM cant get a VAC ban.

Macros cannot get a ban, my keyboard comes with macro keys and I use them. Macro don't trigger VAC, nor should they ever.

Also, how does the Overwatch system work in CS:GO?

The overachieving system is terrible tbh... you can easily avoid to get banned with cheating and avoid the whole over watch system. I don't wanna tell exactly how but... that dosent mean I am cheating guy. Chill chill. I am only aware of the possibility of avoiding the whole Owerwatch system. So something needs to be done by valve. I am not sure they are aware of it. Probably yes
