Can I be VAC Banned in another game for using a cheat in Half-Life?

I'm planning to use "Bunnymod XT" by YaLTeR, which is VAC Bannable since it requires an Injector. But I'm wondering if I will be VAC Banned and unable to play in CS:GO servers if I use this. Will I be able to play CS:GO or other games while it is injected into Half-Life or will I have to remove it every time I attempt to play another game?

Using cheats in Half Life won't get you banned in CS: GO. These are two different games.

What games can I play if I've been VAC banned?

Cheating in one of the following Source games or a Source mod will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list below:

Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Day of Defeat: Source
Team Fortress 2

Similarly, cheating in one of the following Gold Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list below:

Counter-Strike
Condition Zero
Ricochet
Day of Defeat
Team Fortress Classic
Half-Life: Deathmatch
Deathmatch Classic

That doesn't help me in any way. Bunnymod XT is a trusted mod for allowing Half-Life to remove it's speedcap, and also adds a lot of important console commands for speedrunning. It is VAC Bannable because it requires an injector, however. I understand the consequences of being VAC Banned and am just looking out for my safety.

However, unless you wrote the code yourself, then what are you really installing and using ?

Use caution when installing any game modifications like scripts or custom skins, and only download custom content from trusted sources. Hackers may maliciously disguise their cheats to cause others to get banned.

Therefore, regardless of whether you accept the consequences or how "trusted" the mod is, you are violating your legal contractual obligations by willingly choosing to use something you know will result in a VAC ban.

On top of this, I don't undserstand why you would want to have the injector running and injected into Half-Life WHILST PLAYING CSGO ....
There's absolutely no need whatsoever for any of this nonsense.

If you simply wish to alter the speed of HL game, set sv_cheats to 1 and knock yourself out.

I don't suggest installing this software, but I suppose it is up to you, OP. It's not worth the risk, really.

It's not just you ;) I agree with that. These things aren't worth the risk, in my opinion. To the OP, I hope you will reconsider, but in the end it's up to you, like I said. Scorpion's post was correct (and helpful), as well.

Welp, haven't been VAC Banned yet. So that's good. My main fear was that if I got VAC Banned in Half-Life it would be also a CS:GO VAC Ban as well. However, as scorpion said, it isn't so I'm good there. On top of that, using sv_cheats is against the speedrunning rules, meaning it is illegitimate. Bunnymod XT is crucial for speedrunning. And on top of that, you cannot remove the speed cap in Half-Life without using a mod such as this, meaning even more that this is required.

Injecting into games and having injectors running does not get you vacced. In order to get vacced with an injector you have to inject a known cheat into a game with VAC whilst on a vac secured server. Other games are irrelevant

VAC bans are delayed. They can be delayed for days, weeks, and some even claim months.

I would never install software that is VAC Bannable until I had proper confirmation that it would not VAC Ban me in any multiplayer games that I would ever play in the future. The mod is made by YaLTeR, someone who is highly respected in the Half-Life and Half-Life 2 Speedrunning community. I would have just personally asked him since I have him on my friends list, but he is currently offline.

Ah, I was misunderstood about the system then. I would never enter a server with the injection on, I was just worried that having it AT ALL would get me VAC Banned, and would transfer to CS:GO or another game I like. Thank you for clearing this up.
