Why can't I sign OUT of the mobile app?
I can't sign out of the mobile app? I click logout and it says:

"the account you are attempting to sign out has an active steam guard authenticator on this device. Please migrate or remove your authenticator and try again"

So you have to have your Steam app logged in 24/7 now?? So if someone steals my phone they can just open up the Steam app and have access to my account. If I lose my phone and someone finds it they have access to my account. If my family members steal my phone they can open steam app because it is logged in.

Are you serious Gaben? Previously I was able to log out of the app, but still see my authenticator codes when I opened the app, so I could log in on my pc.

It says this update was meant to make it easier to log in.. not make it easier for someone to access my account. I am not interested in your QR codes the normal codes were just fine.

Just downgrade the app or downgrade your Steam Guard to email authentication. No need to abandon the entire platform just because of this.

Downgarding wont solve the Problem, just think about Secruity Updates for the old Mobile App. If we dont do anything about this new method Valve will never go back...

Yes, downgrading is a bit of a problem in the long run, since if Valve implements a new security system, the old one will fall apart. This is currently not the case, since the old system is being used alongside new ones.

However, since everything is based on web pages, and not all users have OS versions new enough to support the new app, it is more than likely Valve will put an automated notice when that happens.

What if I dont want to check my Mails everytime I want to loginto Steam? As I said the Old Steam App wont get any Updates and is a secruity issue itself...

Just closeing this thread wont solve our Problem...

I think this happens when you have the mobile authenticator enabled, correct me if I am wrong because I did sign out from the newly updated mobile app and didn't get any warning. However, I always have Steam guard codes via email.

Maybe they should've included the chat in the new app and created a separate app for the authenticator instead. The only reason I use the app is for the code otherwise it's completely useless to me.

Just try this and see if it works.

steam guard -> authorized devices -> select your device with steam guard and remove access.

I got curious when i couldn't logout and tried this and it worked for me. After that, i managed to log back in using my username/password. It didn't ask code and it didn't remove steam guard from the device at all. However, you won't be able to get sign-in approval or code notifications when you are logged out (also you cannot see the code while logged out unlike the previous version of the app). You need to log back in to see those. But if you want to try this, make sure that you have your recovery code handy just in case.

Note: My device is iphone and using ios version 15.7. Not sure if it applies to Android devices.

You cant log out of steam mobile because removing access still keeps you logged in, and not once on the PC version is there any visible option to prompt a QR code to scan.

great updat Valve.

I have the same problem. I can't log out either. But the best part is that when I look into the authorized devices and try to click on the details about the registered phone, it just says "Oops, something went wrong while loading this page". While logging in from a PC and anything else, it writes details in that app.
