Literally all they have to do is give us e-mail confirmation, everyone has one of those and it's more closely guarded than your phone.
It is fine to use the steam mobile guard to secure the account but it is not fine to force user to the steam mobile guard that the can effectivly use the community market, to have no wait time.
There must be a other way.
This must be a pain for all users who trade often. I trade not often but some days I trade the collected cards of my games.
For example Holiday sale on 20 december :
You got 15 event cards / items or anything else.
Without a Mobile Guard you're offer will placed on 04 january in the new year. the item is not that much worth than on 20 december, so you are nearly not able to sale that item.
All others with Mobile Guard can trade items fast and a happy about there trades.
So at all, it is a punishment.
So Valve should think about that community market and should give non smartphone users a other way to secure better the account and to offer them a fair trade chance on community market
On the other hand, I guess someone motivated to have some items traded or sold fast could ask the staff at community market support to manually lift the restriction for that trade, with sufficient proof of account ownership in the ticket. Not sure if it will work, of course... But if the point of this feature is really to protect the accounts, it should.
