Can't add/download a game from the mobile app

Hello !

As the title say, it is impossible to start a download. It is asking me to download the desktop app.
What I don't understand is the fact that my account is the same and I can download anything already in my library but not add a free or f2p game.

Is it a normal behaviour ? Or some option to change ? Or a bug ?

AFAIK Steam was always meant to be a desktop platform, the best way for you to play the games on your steam library from mobile you can use Steam Link, however you need a strong internet connection

No, you got it wrong. I don't want to play on my mobile, I just want to browse the shop and add a free or f2p game to my library.

I am pretty sure that, if I buy one, it will be added to the library THEN ask you to install the desktop version. If it is a free game, you have to install it directly for it to be added ? So impossible to do it for them ?

I think you have to directly install it (as you said). It is the same for me at least

Use the side menu > Library, you can manage your games within that page.

Yeah, I know that already but I can't add a NEW free game from there ... or maybe you know how to do so ?

Looks like it ... still would be a good option for those rare 100% promos there is sometimes if you don't have access to your computer or add a game you stumbled upon in the mobile app

U have to just put it on your notepad on your phone and search it u can't download it on phone to PC only mods and yeh

The problem I had at the time was a game or add-on with a 100% discount (or a free-to-play game, I don't remember) I wanted to add to my library but, as I was not at home, from the app. But, as i was experiencing, anything free can't be added from the app to the library whithout a direct install ... but if you have it already, you can ask steam to download it on your computer if it is online. So, if you CAN buy it, it will be added to the library then you go there to start the download.
The fact that it ask you if you have Steam to download the app is a little strange if you are not new to the platform but okay, I guess.

And to answer your question : yes, you are ... or a very basic troll, I would say.
