So I bought too many games...
Recently went from console gaming to PC gaming, blah blah blah. Built a new PC, seems to be running great. Went on a game buying spree this holiday shopping season and now I have roughly 25+ additional games to bolster my PC gaming catalog. The last few days I've just been jumping from game to game playing a little, adjusting the settings for maximum sexiness, and monitoring my PC's temperatures to find a good balance.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to stick with any of them. Game overload. As much as I like the games, I want to play like five or more at a time. Only problem is I don't really have the time for that. I'll never accomplish anything, especially in the longer games.

If you take a look at my profile/games, you can see my entire list of games. The recently played ones as well. Based on that and your opinion... what game/series should I play next?! Just need to buckle down and stick to one. ;-]

You're an 8yr member yet have only 93 games. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG. BUY MOAR GAMES NAO.

Seriously, dabble. Play a couple at a time. One of them will hook you until you finish it. Then move to the next one.

Play one game in the morning for 4 hours. Play another for 4 hours. Eat. Play a new game for 4 hours. Poop. Play an old game for 4 hours. Play the game you were playing in the morning for 2 hours while pooping.

I have the same problem as you!
I usually buy games during large sale and I buy in bulk.
My friends recommended the games I should finish, but it didn't help at all.

I do however have a few tips that might help:
- Don't download all games that you purchase, it will limit the amount of available games you can play, thus forcing you to choose from a few and not a lot.
- Read the ratings and reviews. Sometimes I find reviews that just makes me want to play a certain game even more.
- Remember that you do not have an obligation to play these games. Playing video games is all about fun. So our, "problem" really isn't a problem because forcing yourself to complete a game takes out all the fun.

Not even half of my games are installed and I have only finished maybe 2 or 3. Every day I have a sudden urge to play a specific game and I do so. I'll finish my games eventually, but I want the "It's already over?" feeling, rather than the, "FINALLY! I'm so relieved" feeling.

My name is Nunuc, and i'm a gamehoarder.
My backlog is about 300 games about 250 steam-games or more), yet i still can't refuse a good deal (sometimes not even bad deals) when i see one.

But, to the recommendations:

The Walking Dead
I haven't this one either :D, got 3 episodes to go, but i can say it's most certainly Game of the Year-caliber. The two episodes i've completed have been most enjoyable adventuring since Grim Fandango.

Or/And

Buggy, laggy, plaggy, Planetside 2!
I don't usually enjoy multiplayer-shooters at all, but this one is just gold, gold, golden goa'uld...

I'd just play the genre you're interested in. I just recently started getting a few more games and been trying ou different ones, similar to your situation. I never purchase a game unless it's something I want to play. I only do that because I work extremely hard for the little amount of money I make, so it's usually a big deal if I'm planning to spend anything on a game... even if it's on sale.

This is just my opinion though,

Probably 7 1/2 years of those 8 years were spent mostly console gaming. Many of my games came heinously cheap from Humble Bundles since I figured I'd come back to PC gaming eventually (and I have) and like to support Linux development/charity... or were purchased in droves in the last month since I recently built a new PC.

Dabbling hasn't really been working, so bring on the recommendations lol. I'm having fun playing all (most) of my games that are currently installed, so it's not a chore to do so and it's not a lack of interest... I just play one after work, then the next day comes and I'm suddenly in the mood to try a different one. Can't help myself.

I kind of did the same thing on the PS3 when I first got one, jumped around games too much and didn't accomplish much of anything in any of them. Then I said "that's it, I'm going to finish Uncharted" and just played it exclusively for a little bit, eventually beat it a few times, got all the trophies, etc. So yeah, kind of the same deal except I'm asking for help/opinions deciding which to focus on! :-]

Thanks those who have suggested games!

Same situation here - have about 800 games in my steam catalogue and really get to finish any of them so this christmas I decided to put that hoarding mentality away - there will be more sales - and only focus on the really good deals.

I am now also forcing myself to clear games one at a time (currently playing Dark Souls and loving this game like I have loved no other game) - Currently I have about 30 full games installed on my two drives attached to my laptop. Slowly and systematically I will clear all of them before I am to download a single new game :)

Haha, that totally reminds me of the Battlefield Friends season 1 finale part about having a ♥♥♥♥ bucket.

Colonel 100: "You got a ♥♥♥♥ bucket?"

Recon: "I’m sorry?"

Colonel 100: "Do you have a ♥♥♥♥ bucket?"

Medic: "I…I don’t."

Recon: "I’m not sure I follow…"

Colonel 100: "You go to the bathroom, your not playing Battlefield. If you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥’ in a bucket, your playing Battlefield."

steam has sales often that you dont need to buy them every time there is a sale. Just buy a mutili player game cod, cs, bf3, ect... or a singal player that will last like mincraft the sims or skyrim. then just wait for the deal on the game you want. that is what i love about steam. or just switch back to consel and do gamefly.

You can choose which game is the newest and like you can play that first. You can also just uninstall the old games you don't like.
