Looking for Classic Games
I missed out on a great majority of classic PC games and I'm looking to catch up. I purchased the original X-Com and some of the Civ games and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I'm looking for more classics, but sometimes it's hard to find them on Steam, which doesn't really have an appropriate category.

Could you guys please throw out some classic games that I might have missed out on? I'm not picky about genre. I'm just looking for great games.

OH HO HO HO...
Classic eh?....

TRY:

RTS:
- 'Command and conquer: The first Decade.' This has all of the well, first decade of command and conquer games to get some classic RTS base building anemy base trouncing fix...

FPS:
- 'Thief Bundle: Thief: Dark Project, Thief 2: The metal age, Thief 3: Deadly Shadows'
This is FPS Stealth...not the ♥♥♥♥ you see nowadays, this allthough an early game, is still VERY playable and a CLASSIC in fact 'THE' Classic Stealth game, there is no better or venerated than this game. Looking Glass Studios I 'think' were given several awards for this franchise. It was 'GOLD'

RPG/FPS:
- 'The Elder Scrolls: 3, 4, and, of course.. 5-(Skyrim)': Ok, you might be thinking Skyrim, classic?...But Listen, the Elder scrolls was a really early game developed way back in the 90's, Known by, Elder scrolls Arena...(1) then Elder scrolls Daggerfall (2) and the above...these are as classic as you can get before it gets just too, unplayable...I highly recommend you play TES it is really immersive and free roam, quest based, trade, kill, friend people, whatever you want, and the DLC adds even more options, especially Hearthfires, where it brings in that sims feel!

FPS:
- 'Wolfenstein 3D'. This is one of my all time CLASSIC FAVOURITES.
Run around as an American Soldier trapped in a Castle, by the 3rd reich!...You must find the keys to unlock the doors to the elevators to each level of the Castle, eventually confronting an impressive and remarkable foe!....CLASSIC.There is another addition to this: ''Spear of Destiny''. More carnage!

I could go on, but I'll leave you to chew on those...Best of luck to you!...

Tachyon: The fringe is a good one. The guy from Army of Darkness did the voice acting.

No clue.

GoG is *very* old games. You can even get DOS-Games there, ready to use 'cause they bundle them with a DOS-Emulator and wrap it into an installation package.

If games aren't quite as old, I would still prefer Steam. Although I'm currently just "sitting it out" -- like a while back they released Enclave on Steam (which I already have, but not on Steam) and even gave it a 50% sale -- but I still decided that I'll just let it slide, since sooner or later it might show up in some bundle...
