💜Lovers dark single games 💜
Indie people are not accustomed to gloomy games.

I am glad that in the last 5 months release are more tragic stories than before:
"Burnhouse Lane", "Loretta", "Bramble", "Strayed Light", "Anthology of Fear", these are the ones that have at least some kind of player base.

I'm surprised that there are still brave developers who create games in this dead direction.

The situation does not change at all, people do not like adult and cruel games, people love a vanilla plot with stereotyped characters where good always wins in the end.

This I can even judge by my list of friends on Steam.

If you have an opinion on this, you can share which of the dark games you liked the most.

May not be as dark an end as you’d envision, but Heaven’s Vault is a personal standout.
The cat lady is a dark game, never finished though. It's a game on steam.
Not very dark (if we mean aesthetical design) but definitely adult regarding choices and its consequences. World is definitely brutal, especially when you start unearthing secrets.

Well... You're talking about a "walking simulator".
People play this genre for the sake of beauty and relaxing atmosphere.

I'm talking about games with dark visuals, where violence is demonstrated, like "Lorelai" or "Cat Museum".

The games I'm talking about will never appeal to gamers who value graphics, unlike "walking simulators"
I didn't realise your criteria was left to right scrollers that also included dark themes only. Quite frankly if you think any of the games I listed are just walking simulators only about beauty and relaxing atmosphere you haven't played them. On your criteria Bramble would count as played for beauty and relaxation.

Perhaps these will be more to your taste

That Lorelai game you mentioned, is it the same developers that made the cat lady and downfall? Just curious.

And they have a new game "Burnhouse Lane"
Sorry but indie devs have largely kept the darker, scary games alive for years.

Back in the early PS3 era there was that stupid idea amongst triple A devs that horror games didn't sell and were dead, and thanks to the indies for the most part that showed to be incorrect. People loved games like Outlast showing the way.

xD

Outlast, amnesia and so on came out in 2010-2013.
There weren't many games back then. You could release the game on Steam only after the approval of the kickstarter.
Open "Future Projects" now.
Dozens of games come out a day, and the audience always prefers rainbow worlds.

Look at Amnesia Rebirth.
The game has a large fan base, but its popularity is at the level of an ordinary indie game, because such games are no longer interesting to anyone.
