How do we buy gems on the market now?
Hello there, does anybody know why there's absolutly no sacks of gems left to buy on the market?

Because Gems are now unmarketable/untradable item....part of Valves lazy 'fix'

I dont believe that the sacks of gems are tradeable now.

Well, that's wonderful. I sold all my items for real money to buy sacks of gems on the market. What a crappy event.

you don't buy them now, basically they let the duppers keep all their cheated items and what not while the rest of us didn't get our items back and we are stuck with little to no gems to actually bid unless we spend money to buy cards and items to turn into worthless gems. Basically the majority of us won't be able to actually participate unless we spend more money. While the duppers made out and get free games now.

It was a horrible event to begin with...the exploit and more so the way it was 'fixed' have turned this from bad to worse.....

It's a little annoying, but luckily all of the money I put towards gems on the market were refunded to my Steam wallet, so only the gems harvested directly from recycling remained.

They got rid of the duped gems, and right now I suppose this is fix is just so that no one else can replicate what happened. And the people who traded for gems got free games so far, not those who traded them away.

All they need to do is to stop people making booster packs from gems until the auctions have finished, and allow gem sack purchases on the market in the mean time.

Actually, no, unmarketable gems is the perfect solution. It rewards the best customers instead of guys looking to spend $3.00 on 100,000 gems in the hopes of winning an auction for a $50 game. Basically, the guys who have the most loot (an expression of their spending on Steam) get the most gems. I wouldn't call it "lazy" as any other "solution" that still involves buying/selling gems will come right back to their exponential devaluation in auctions.

because with gems you could buy boosters, gems hit 3 cents for a thousand, making all boosters 3 cents each . RED ALERT pull the plug

Only people with huge disposable income win now. I'd need 2000-3000 rare icons/backgrounds to even compete for a chance for lower/mid level games. Had 15k gems last night, now down to 80 gems with $1.32 in the wallet...I can't even compete now for the cheapest thing at auction.

Huge, income, I guess. But it's a fair bet that those with 100k plus gems aren't buying 1,000 items worth 100 gems each. They probably had them sitting around anyway. I've a pittance of items compared to some and already I've 27k plus and items to spare. Was a real PITA converting those unsellable items to gems, though.
