People can see my REAL name

So I was playing on a murder server on Garry's Mod, and just having fun and all that, and I hear someone say my name. I thought I misheard them, but then they said it like another 5 times. I changed servers because I was getting a little freaked out, and they also could see my real name... I have no idea what's going on, my real name is not in anyway involved with steam at all. Can anyone help me understand this?

Either your real name is Mr. Vong or Garry—or you misheard their name calling

Nobody knows your real name unless you tell them.

I am more than certain that they said my name. I asked them to repeat it just to make sure.

If your real name isn't anywhere on Steam, then it's not due to Steam. It's possible these people you were playing with have tracked you down via things such as a Facebook account, Twitter, or other social networking crap. People tend to reveal far too much personal info on those sorts of things. Another possibility is that a real life personal friend has divulged that info to strangers. A third possibility is that you have picked up a keylogger or trojan somewhere and your computer is compromised.

Well, it's probably the third since I don't connect any form of my social life with my gaming life, and hardly any of my friends know i'm a gamer :/

Get some good virus and malware scanners and run thorough tests one at a time. I'd recommend Avast, Avira, Panda, Malwarebytes, and Spybot Search & Destroy. Be sure to only have one such scanner running/installed at a time as they can sometimes mess with each other. The reason for running multiples in a row is because they all detect a different set of bad stuff.

Are you sure they were calling you and not maybe someone else with your name?

I'm pretty sure. They were calling me by Vong Hong, then correcting themselves and started to refer to me by my full name (Fist and last name) and they used that same name on the next server I went on :/
