Stalkers....
Ok now that steam added stalkers dream of follow button.

How do I prevent anyone from following me? I see no where an option to block it.

They definitely need to give us an option to stop people following us, this isn't a social media site; as much as Valve would like it to be.

Exactly what it says lol they should just blatantly change it to stalk. You can monitor an account 24/7 and they wont know it. THen they can harrass you and spam you and follow you in any game you play. Stalking is illegal everywhere yet every big game company now somehow "allows" it with their systems? Cough, how much did you pay them MS and spooks?

If it bothers you then set your profile to private, or friends only... and then strangers trying to "stalk" you won't see anything.

If your profile is set "public" than even WITHOUT a "follow" feature ANY stranger can "stalk" you anyways, by manually going to look at your profile every day. So whatever?

RL Stalkng laws almost never include language that covers following-someone's PUBLIC feed on a gaming site. So no gaming site is breaking the laws.

Also, as i've been stalked in RL, i can tell you someone "following" your publically set profile on a gaming site is no where near as scary as someone stalking you in real life >.< Just saying.

i'm not saying online harassment isn't scary or can't cross the lines into RL stalking. However.. following someone (who has *willingly* set their profile to PUBLIC) on a gaming site like Steam doesn't quite meet that level of invasion (in my mind).

And again.. what dose it really do? were do you see it? have you try to follow someone and see if it dose something? so far i was unable to see it really do anything at all..

What about both cyber and rl stalking? Ever been a victim of that? Yes my profile is private but there are still butt hurt little nazis mad from RO2 spamming my reviews. They always find a way to exploit no matter what. The stalkers find you no matter what, you can smurf you can do whatever, all these companies simplified it for you to become pray to scum that needs a bullet in the back of the head.

All valve needs to do is add in privacy section is a "do not allow ANYONE to follow me" simple as that.

I never even knew such a feature existed on Steam. Rather strange to see it here. So you never know who's watching your activity on Steam?

That's my general info, so I don't really mind if anyone knows that. It's mainly for the people I talk with currently anyway.

I just meant that with several links to other social sites people could watch your activity everywhere if they wish.

Yeah. I've currently been rethinking having those there, I don't often use half of them anyway. Thinking about it now, it's probably not a good idea to have those there lol.
