Can steam curators hurt game sale?
Can this affect the sales of small indie games if they not are been promoted by a known/famous curator? (yes) here is a video there shows it can affect it very much in fact

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzUIIkP5RMA&list=UUy1Ms_5qBTawC-k7PVjHXKQ

ps. this info is helpful both for consumers and developers

edit: im fully aware that they talk about lot of other stuff in the video, but all this they talk about is related to steam

Thanks for the info it was interesting
But to be honest i think it can, but i think it will help much more then what it will harm
I think only approved ones would get put on the store page if they havent added it yet.
Indie devs seeem to always forget MARKETING is still fricking important. There is no 'lets just throw out the game into the ether and it'll be a hit' thing. The biggest mistake I CONSTANTLY hear from devs is "So my game is out now what kind of marketing should I do" which is face palm with an iron glove filled with broken glass stupid.

Curators don't 'hurt' sales. Curators are a marketing tool. And those devs who use said marketing tools will have a higher chance of succeeding than those who dont.
