Trading Warning
To all those new to games like, Dota and especially Counter Strike Global Offensive, please make sure you know who you are trading with and that you trust them, I have had a few people tell me someone was going to pay them $$$ for some skins, and it never happened. If you trade skins etc. and the player/person you are trading to does not keep their end of the deal and you accept that is your own fault I am sorry to say, try and avoid it by

1. Know the person well

2. Do they seem suspicous (not trustworthy)

3. Are they offering an item same grade as yours or what you would like in return?

Money can not be traded in the trade system, only wallet funds on the community market can.

Never trade for money or out-side the trade system to begin with.

What should I not trade for?

Do not trade for anything that cannot be added into the trade window within Steam. The most common examples of these scenarios are the following:
  • Trading items/gifts for money outside of the Steam Community market. You cannot add Wallet credit, PayPal, gift cards or any form of money into the trade window.

  • Trading items/gifts for CD Keys. You cannot add a CD Key into the trade window. CD Keys that are offered can be for a different game, fake, used or region restricted.

  • Trading items/gifts for nothing in return in the first trade and expecting to get an item or gift in a later trade. There is no reason to not trade everything in one trade. You may add unlimited items/gifts to a single trade. A common example of this is using a middleman to facilitate a one sided trade.

Come to think of it, with all that malware that just empties your inventory on your behalf, I haven't seen any of those "Steam guard will credit $4783485 to your account after the trade is completed" postings for a while.

Now, as the EMail verification will probably reduce the item stealing significantly, we should be seeing the traditional social engineering returning -- trading with "Steam guard", trading for PayPal funds, this kind of stuff.
