Looking for NON-FOMO open world multiplayer game recommendations.
(NOTE: Preferably on Steam, but I'll take ones not on Steam too.)

I'm desperately looking for multiplayer/co-op games, particularly open world ones, that I can try and play with my friends since most of us are scattered across the country. The gang loves Minecraft and a couple of them do like Don't Starve Together, but on *god* can you get tired of Minecraft after so many hours of it.

However, the biggest thing: I want games that do NOT have god-awful FOMO-type/pay to play content, no battlepasses, no limited-time paid exclusives, none of that garbage. Just a good old fashioned big world to explore, preferably one that also lets you host the server for the sake of troubleshooting issues as needed (i.e. giving back someone an item that they lost due to a glitch or whatever).

And since r/gaming has that stupid post karma requirement, well, I'm risking it all asking the gamers here if they have recs.

IT does have DLC though that some cosmetics are hidden behind though.

You need to go to anomaly to join up with your friends in this game. Also, as far as i know, it only had one FOMO thing too. The expeditions are kinda missable, but they tend to repeat quite often.
