How tf did NMS not get the award? Constant updates to graphics, game play and everything is free. Talk about a brain dead community who cries about paying for DLC.

Not surprising at all for me... I mean, it's obvious that Elden Ring provides a ton more contents to enjoy with much less repetitive gameplay.

Elden Ring won because more people voted for it. Doesn't mean the community is "braindead", as OP says. It just means that other people have different preferences.

Specifically, there appeared to be no multiplayer, and other features demonstrated in promotional videos and Murray's interviews were absent

And for that they should have stuck to the funny categories they did the first time. At least it gave the awards some charm and personality.

However the actual regular catgeories allow the awards to run on autopilot. So of course the law of minimum effort applies.
