It has a slower pace, but in terms of atmosphere, it is very nicely done. Especialy towards the end of the game. It is short, a few hours. I definitelly recommend it :)
Give it a try at least. If it doesn't suit your tastes, you can always refund it.
Use headphones to play.
And before someone comes nagging that you can hear sounds in space, those are simulated by the ship's computer as acoustic feedback.
If you say atmosphere, I say: What sort of atmosphere? A gloomy atmosphere? A cosy atmosphere? A tense atmosphere? A warm, cold or outdoor atmosphere? The atmosphere of the seventies?
There can be so many different atmospheres. Simply the best atmosphere? What might that be...?
Hear my plea; Think about this before you argue that a game is atmospheric. Because, what does that mean exactly? Does the game world have a certain atmosphere? If so, then what atmosphere is there? Or is a place simply atmospheric because someone said it was atmospheric.
May Payne
Project IGI
GTA Vice City
F.E.A.R
Dark Souls
Batman Arkham City
Dying Light
If it's more of the latter - I'd probably also go with Disco Elysium. ..but it's a slower game with lots of text, not to everyone's liking.
Actually, it means nothing, because it can mean anything lol. Never really liked this tag, because it is completely abstract and vague.
Just pure FPS with long range sniping (it's still mixed with a bit of close stealth). It has pure callous killing vibes and untouched by any lame political messaging.
The developers have been evolving the game play with each new game. SGW3 and up are worth checking out.
In my opinion it doesn't get any better than that... also because all that Journey has going for it is it's atmosphere; this game is going to play with your emotions big time. And the best part of it - in my opinion of course - is that the only thing you can really "do" is walk around and release one single note to express yourself.
Yah, this game has multiplayer as well (pure PVE) and there are simple puzzles and mazes to solve.
