So, the University of Washington have data, HMV stores in Britain did a study with a few other partners years ago, and there's other as well. Guinness Book of Records have reported on it in the past too.
So simply use theirs if you can find them.
Average age is at least around 40
As I pointed out there are places that have done considerable studies on this around the globe and the largest one I'm aware of was well, two of them in fact. One was the joint Univversity of Washington the other the HMV one and each of those took several years and took in loads. I'm pretty sure they didn't lean on mobile gaming and even if they did it was far less then.
And the results have always been really similar, despite the age of the studies - it's around 33 with a very slight trend upwards (that is NOT pro rata as some seem to leave as other younger ones join).
It's not around 40.
I have a couple of friends in their 80s who play regularly.
Doris Self used to compete for the QBert high score some years ago (she's passed away sadly) - she was in her 80s.
I have so many other friends older than me who games especially in the little gamer group I have with friends from the legal profession.
Pewds would say 100% 9 years old...and 100% of them all turned 19 at some point in the past few years
