Someone tryna steal ur acc
either an error. or you have been hacked, change your password. put the authenticator on the phone, if you have it. write down the recovery code, if you registered from an email that is not tied to the main account, like Google, then write down the password and login from it, or from the Google account.

Simple - he either guessed your details because your password is easily guessable, or you resused the password on another site that was compromised, or you GAVE the details away without knowing.

Most of the time on here it's the latter. If you've ever visited a site that deals with skin selling, gambling or voting for cetain "games" and such, then that's how they get you.

You may immediately "wait, I've NEVER done that". Everybody says that. The point is that scams get you when you aren't thinking, when you're relaxed. So you wouldn't remember.

You likely once went somewhere that a friend told you about and you logged into steam again to get there, and oh wait. You didn't log into steam at all - you gave your details away.

That's how it usually happens.

Does the account name in the email alert match your account name attributed to your account?

An IP Address can't do anything much. It certainly cannot be used to infiltrate your account.
