What is the chances of....
A steam account actually getting hacked?

I've had my steam account a LONG time . . . 8 Years to be somewhat more specific.

Neither me nor any of my IRL friends have had our steam accounts hacked but I was just genuinely curious as to the actual chances of the getting hacked?

I use steam guard ( ever since it came out )

I use paypal for my debit card information,

My passwords are known by NOBODY except me. ( And they are not easy to guess )

Is there still any risk of people getting into my steam account?

I suppose you could say I've been getting a bit nervous with every so often people ( Trolls or genuine, I couldn't tell ) Make forum posts "ACCOUNT HACKED, ITEMS STOLEN".

Actually hacked as in brute forcing the password an log-in? Almost zero as it would take a few dozen years before they could even come close (or longer, depending on password strength).

The servers? Very slim and if it did, they date is encrypted so the above would still apply in order to decrypt it.

99% of "hacked" accounts are due to phishing the user for the information. Don't give out your information, double check links, don't download strange programs and don't upload anything that has to do with security (such a steam file that holds your SteamGuard authentication).

i smell a troll looking for info...

but if you´re serious, everything is hackable. beeing curious is the first way to stay safe. the other things sure help too. most hacks work with phishingmails i guess. too bad there are always enough people who have no clue how to "live" or behave online. change your password regulary and you should be fine. even if you should get hacked. you have enough proof about you, that the hackers doesn´t have (id, keys in manuals, etc.). i know hacked accounts mostly from blizzard. there is no need for any pin-generator or so in steam. it could help with agerestrictions though (for uncut games in germany e.g.).

It's practically impossible. Steam is very protected and I think that it waould be impossible to do it.

Ironically threads like this could lead to problems. You never want to say anything is impossible.
