So, what's with all the Anime avatars?

Not sure why that became so popular - I mean every second person on the Internet suddenly had an Anime avatar at one point, especially on Steam. And there are not even that many Manga style games on PC - that is actually more Console (especially Playstation) territory. I'm not judging by the way - I just find it to be an interesting trend which I don't understand in any way. Are Animes still that popular? Last real good one I've seen was Death Note and since then I felt that anime stuff is rather getting worse than better. Just my personal opinion, though - I'm propably just getting too old and grumpy ;) .

I think Anime really is growing.. but i do not think there are that many of them to be honest.. i think its more that is a group one can remember as seeing that make it look like there are that many of them

People really need to learn that an account level of 0 simply means the user is using privacy settings. Yeah I know. Strange concept isn't it. People not wanting others snooping around their profiles.

At one point I actually was into anime big time - NGE, Elfenlied, Wolf's Rain, Akira, Cowboy Bebob, GITS, Samurai Champloo, Death Note, Paprika, all the Hayao Miyazaki stuff and a few I can't remember at the moment. For me, it never got any better than that, though. Any decent new Shonen or Seinen out there? Maybe I missed something.

Black Lagoon, of course - did they ever finish that one? That was just awesome!
